After traveling for a year (almost) and using credit cards for almost 100% of my payments, I thought I would do a video on why the American Express Aspire Card is my favorite. My travel is greater than most people so I do have a lot of experience using different cards. It is possible that you...
I wanted to make a video to explain the value of a timeshare as compared to staying in a hotel. This video compares the Hilton Grand Vacations Studio at Ocean Tower to the Hilton Waikoloa basic room. I go through the cost to rent each of them, the maintenance costs as an owner, and the actual...
For those of you that want to vacation on Maui, this is the video for you. In this video, I not only compare two different locations on Maui from Worldmark, Hilton, and Marriott... But I also compare the programs (my opinion) on how they stack up on Maui.
Below, I have included the reviews of...
We have a deeded timeshare in Sedona with Diamond and the salesperson wants us to transfer into a Hilton program since Diamond was bought out. We have no idea what to do. Thank you
Many People have dreamed of spending an extended vacation in Hawaii... Well, I have put together a monthly budget (actually four weeks) that shows what it takes to stay in Hawaii for a month. I have done this several times and it really works. In my last post, I discussed a four week trip for...
Many People have dreamed of spending an extended vacation in Hawaii... Well, I have put together a monthly budget (actually four weeks) that shows what it takes to stay in Hawaii for a month. I have done this several times and it really works.

One of the downsides of choosing timeshares over an RV used to be the flexibility to travel across the US and have plenty of places to stay. Well, not so anymore thanks to the merger of Diamond International and Hilton Grand Vacations creating HGVMax. This is a huge game changing event for the...
There are several questions one would ask about living in a timeshare for six months. 1) Why would anyone do this? 2) What are the economics? 3) What are the possibilities? 4) How can I do this?
Why would anyone do this? Two weeks a year to vacation and see the world is not enough anymore...
In this video, I reviewed my overly obsessive approach to figure out how to earn 71 free hotel nights in a single year. My goal is offer you several ideas for how you can leverage what you are doing to earn free hotel nights by doing what you are doing anyway. I look forward to learning...
I am a Bonvoy Platinum and looking into buying into Marriott Timeshare for Marriott Points to trade in during prime vacation weeks (skiing week 51 or 52, President's weekend, Spring break/Easter vacation, summer mid June-first week of August or Thanksgiving). What is the best Marriott points...
I have a silver membership with diamond. Diamond rep says if I pay another $65k over next ten years, I’ll have a deeded ownership and pay less (in monthly payments) than I pay now for annual fees. I will be upgraded to platinum and he says I’ll never never have to pay maintenance fees again...
Hello,
I am new here. The last kid is about to leave for college and my husband and I won't travel to resorts anymore.
Could people give me an idea of a realistic selling price for Kohala - Hawaii by Hilton Grand Vacations? It is a Platinum with 7000. 2Br 2Bth 12600 points saved for next year...
I'm considering acquiring a HGV timeshare worth 5000 points. Looking at the official booking rates, as well as other terms, it appears a timeshare would make sense for me. However, the points aren't worth anything if I can't utilize them the way I want, and my requirements aren't any high (Las...
Like some of you, I recently stumbled upon this website when looking up information on timeshares after a presentation. I'm currently at a Hilton Grand Vacations hotel in Las Vegas and got suckered into purchasing a timeshare at a presentation yesterday. The purchase is a bit on the low end, but...
Sharing what I believe to be a complete points chart for Ocean Tower within Hilton Waikoloa Village, Waikoloa Beach, Hawaii (The Big Island). As of August 2021, this property remains under active conversion from the original hotel rooms to HGV's timeshares, so there may eventually be additions...
Hello, all. I'm a first-time thread contributor- be gentle ;-)
There may not be a lot of people who own at DVC but might be thinking about buying into Hilton's timeshare program (Hilton Grand Vacations). In case you might be - or are just interested in how the programs compare - I'm sharing a...
Just wondering what are the limitation of the HGV App vs. HGVwe site. Here are some I can point out:
1. HGV App cannot be used for RCI bookings or last min deals
2. HGV App does not also show Hilton Last mins deals
There may be many more. Let’s hear from the experienced HGV owners.
Thanks
So I sent a cancellation letter to Hilton within four days of signing. Cancellation was within the allotted 10 days and it says they have 20 days according to the contract to refund our money. I didn’t put too much in the letter other than me and my wife’s decision to cancel within the time...
Hi! I'm interested in going to Hawaii around March 27th - April 4th, preferably Honolulu Looking for at least a 1 BDR.

Over a four week period, I stayed in four different timeshares from north of San Diego to south of Los Angeles. I feel really fortunate to have been able to stay at these four wonderful timeshare properties. I would go back to any one of them again, but I am curious which of the four you...
Hi all,

We attended a HGVC presentation earlier this year and purchased 3500 points every other year for $11,000. After doing some research online we learned that we had made a huge mistake.
Fast forward a few months and we are now closing on a better deal for twice the amount of points with a better...
Been lurking around TUG for about a year. My story... Stayed at the Hilton in NYC and listened to their spiel in 2018 bad turned them down. We purchased a "try before you but" package for $1695 for 7200 points. We booked at the Grand Islander in HI and still have points left over.
We went...
