Happy Aloha Friday, Jeff! It’s kind of funny, now that I’m retired, have a lake for a backyard and a 20 minute drive to the beach, vacation is actually more like work. I’d rather just stay home most of the time.

After all our 6 trips in the last 2 months, I'm right there with you. Looking back, it was like work. We are looking forward to just being home. shaka

Happy Aloha Friday!! Hard to believe we are moving into July already but the weather has been great and everyone seems to be getting out and enjoying summer.

This week's picture take us back to Maui and Ho'opika Beach. This beach is really close to Mama's Fish House and worth a stop to check and see if the Honu are on the beach relaxing and enjoying the sun. We have never seen that many turtles in one place in a beach before.

Happy Aloha Friday!! The 4th of July is now behind us and we now move into the heart of the summer. It's great to see everyone out and taking advantage of the summer. Keep those stories and pictures coming.

This week's picture takes us back to Maui and the Ocean Vodka property. Ocean Vodka was started in 2004 in Kula. The property has sweeping views from the slopes of Haleakala. There is a Cafe there where you can enjoy some great food and take in the gorgeous views overlooking the ocean below. It's definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. shaka

Happy Aloha Friday!!! We are in the middle of summer and July is flying by. The weather has been great but we are in Hurricane Season here and Hurricane Calvin is making its way toward Hawaii but looks to weak and head south of the islands. We could get some rain out of it.

This weeks picture takes us back to Lanai and to The Lanai Cat Sanctuary. It all started when Kathy Caroll moved to the island from Illinois and started a neutering program. It has grown to a 4-acre parcel that houses over 700 cats. The organization is completely voluntary and has been operating since 2004. The link is below if you want to check it out.

Aloha Friday! We used to watch episodes of Aloha Vet. He used to spend time trapping feral cats in Kauai, neutering them, and releasing them. Sadly, Dr. Scott Sims got bladder cancer and died 2 months later in 2015.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! Thankfully Hurricane Calvin past South of the Hawaiian Islands. We ended out getting 2 days of heavy wind and some on and off rain. We are looking to get back into our regular summer weather for a while now.

This week's picture takes us back to Oahu. Next Thursday marks my 4th year living in Hawaii. I arrived in Waikiki and stayed at The Ohana Waikiki East. It has a nice view and was only 2 blocks from Waikiki Beach. I had one week to find our apartment and I got lucky when I found a listing for Aloha Lanai on that Monday.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! We made it to the last Aloha Friday of July and now we are on to August. School here starts on August 10th so we will be watching for school busses soon.

This week's picture brings you to our lanai here on Molokai. We don't get sunsets here on the east side because our building faces east but sometimes the sunrises are just spectacular.
