Happy Aloha Friday

@pedro47 Virginia Is expecting 6 inches of snow Wednesday evening. Please stay off the roads, we are not used to driving in snow. That is a fact.

We could have used the freeway but I chose the highway. There was a 100+ car pile up on the freeway last Thursday that I'm glad we missed. After staying the night at the Running Y we made it to Southern California and we are loving the warm weather and blue skies.

Bill

Happy Aloha Thursday morning from Coastal Virginia, we have received on average yesterday 8 inches of snow across the region: Norfolk, VA Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News,York County, James City County, and Williamsburg. LOL, we have been blessed there are no major power outage or traffic accident in the area..

The median temperature for the region is a cold 29 degrees.

Our sky is partly cloudy and the temperature is 72 with light trade winds

Happy Aloha Friday from Phillip Island Australia. We have been here since last Sunday. This Sunday we move to Melbourne. It is Sunny and 76°F. Last night we went to the Fairy Penguin Parade. Today we spent the day at the Churchill Island Historical Farm and San Remo.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! We are getting towards the end of winter and the temps are showing it, 82 for highs and 65 for lows🥶. We are getting a little more rain too. Spring is around the corner.

This week's picture takes us to the West side of Molokai and Kepuhi Beach. The waves are still high and they come crashing in but in a few months things will calm down nicely.

Enjoy and have an Awesome Aloha Friday and a Great Weekend!!!🤙🏻🌴🌺😎

Happy Aloha Friday from Minnesota, yah sure you betcha. Our sub-zero temps finally warmed up yesterday to a balmy 19 degrees. Even at -15, the birds still showed up for a hearty breakfast of dried mealworms. The chickadees, nuthatches, and blue jays would appear as soon as I'd close the door to the deck. I'd sit at the table with my coffee, breakfast, and newspaper while they'd take turns eating the worms.

Happy Aloha Friday! It’s a gorgeous morning in St. Augustine but just 35 this morning with a high of 53 today. Hopefully, this was our last dip into the 30’s for this winter season.

We are getting a little more rain too
Aloha. We're on Oahu now. We got some rain a few days ago. Maybe 6 hrs, not heavy. We had made it to probably 19 days in HI this winter before seeing rain. That must be a record for us. It reminded me of when we first moved to a dry part of the CA coast. I went to the sporting goods store. I talked to the owner, a former pro triathlete, about the local tri scene. He mentioned the 8 or more months of no-rain, and said "It gets to the point, you welcome a rainy day to sit back and feel it." We went for a long walk in the rain to wash off all the salt.
I keep hearing this and that about how bad the weather has been in the "Other 48" (not CA nor HI) and realizing how sheltered I am. :giggle:

Happy Aloha Friday from the windward side of Oahu. It's currently 71 with a high of 82. DW arrives home tomorrow...just in time for me to depart for a business trip. Hope everyone is well.

Here's a pic of the mokes from Kalama Beach Park.

Happy Aloha Friday from Palm Springs. It's been nice weather and the hiking is interesting.

I can see in our home security cameras that our family is sleding down the driveways and making snow people in the yard. I hope this melts before next week.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! Winter is moving right along and we're moving into March. We had some VOG move into all the islands yesterday so thick clouds made for a dreary day.

This week's picture takes us back to Oahu and Waikiki from our walkway at Aloha Lani. Sunsets framed beautifully at this time of year there. 🤙🏻

Enjoy and have an Awesome Aloha Friday and a Great Weekend!!!🤙🏻🌴🌺😎

Happy Aloha Friday from Sevenmile Beach Tasmania. Actually it is Saturday here. We return to Melbourne today for 8 nights before returning to Salem Oregon. We did acquire 3 Bottles of out favorite Tasmania Whisky - award winning Sullivan's Cove. You can only get it at the Distillery.

We didn't take pics, but news for Slip: we walked past Marugame / Paia 3x in 2 weeks. Marugame has become BTDT I guess. It had only the tiniest line all 3x.
Paia, otoh, had long line both times we went by near dinner time. Sat night dinner time the line at Paia was unbelievable.
We ate lunch at Paia on a wkday. The ono was :cheer:

That happens with Marugame at times. Then they get extremely busy again. For Paia, when we lived there, we would mostly call in our order to skip the line. But we would eat at off times too just to avoid the line.

We also liked the Happy Hour at Basalt. Those were all some of our favorites since we lived so close.🤙🏻

Happy Aloha Friday! Here in Hades, CA, it's spring, and we are planting tomatoes today! The high is forecast to be 75º today.

Happy Aloha Friday !!! I'm hoping to see some planets align tonight. It looks like clear skies tonight so it might happen. Here's an old picture of the Old Maui High School in Hamakuapoko. I wonder if I spelled that right, lol.

Last week was mostly below 0, this week was mostly above 40. It was good weather for a ride through the park.
(It wasn't warm enough to melt the lake ice.)

Tasmanian whiskey. That''s something you don't hear every day. Does it bring out the devil in you? I guess it is late summer thethereth
They started making Single Malt Whisky in Tasmania about 30 years ago. Sullivan's Cove has won numerous Awards in the Worldwide Whisky Competitions. We actually found out about it over 10 years ago in Scotland from a Scottish Dislillery Worker. They had just won Best Whisky in the World. We went directly from the Airport to the Dislillery. After doing a Whisky Tasting we were told they were out of the Double Cask we like at the Experience Center. I wrote a long sob email to several of the Managers how we had traveled 8,000 miles to get their Whisky. They agreed to Sale us from the Whole Sale Allotment regular Double Cask and from their 30 year Special Double Cask. Lark another Tasmania Whisky has done very well with its blended Whiskies. I consider it made in the Irish Method. They use American Bourbon Casks, Port Casks, and Sherry Casks.
