Happy Aloha Friday

Happy Aloha Friday!!! The first Aloha Friday in March. 2025 is moving right along. We have still had some VOG with Kilauea still showing off on the Big Island and with the higher winds than normal.

This week's picture keeps us on Molokai and to Kaunakakai town at Hiro's Restaurant. We were able to go with friends and enjoy good company, great food and awesome local music.

Enjoy and have an Awesome Aloha Friday and a Great Weekend!!!🤙🏻🌺😎🌴

Happy Aloha Friday from the First Coast. It’s beautiful but cool here this morning with temps in the mid 40’s.

Happy Aloha Friday (actually Saturday here) from Melbourne Australia. It is suppose to get to 84°F today. We have had a good visit. Seven days on Phillip Island. Two weeks at Melbourne with a 4 night stay in Tasmania in the middle of the two weeks.

Today is a lay around day. Do laundry and pack. The Wyndham Resort is in the CBD. Tomorrow (Sunday) at about 8:30am we Uber to the Airport. We are flying FIJI Air to LAX then Alaska to PDX. We arrive at PDX at about 5:30pm on Sunday.

We would move to Tasmania in a Heartbeat. The problem is that we are retired. Australia would take us if we were working school teachers, Nurses, or Construction Workers. But they do not want retired folks unless they have about a $1mil Australian to invest in local businesses. Keep buying Lottery Tickets. Salem Oregon is at about 45°N Latitude. Hobart Tasmania is at about 44°S Latitude. So very similar weather with both heavily influenced by Ocean. Plus Tasmania has Wombats, Pademelons, and Fairy Penguins. Not to mention the World Class Whisky.

Happy Aloha Friday !!! We are on the road again . Yesterday the road views were great. All of the mountains were out, some more than others.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! It's been cold and rainy overnight here dropping to about 65 degrees with highs around 81. Looks like some more rain over the weekend. The Molokai Farmers Baseball team is home this weekend so we'll be off to the ballpark. 🤙🏻

This week's picture keeps us on Molokai to the Kamalo Valley with some of the Seven Sisters showing up after a recent rain.

Enjoy and have an Awesome Aloha Friday and a Great Weekend!!!🤙🏻🌴🌺😎

Happy Aloha Friday !!! It's been a bit cold in Aniheim. My grand daughter and I were out in the parking lot watching the blood moon for a good while and it kind of looked like this.

Bill, thanks for the photos. It’s a shame that none of us use REAL cameras anymore to capture images and events like this. I have the equipment and tri-pods to set up shots but it’s just too much work when we have our phones handy. Unfortunately the phone cameras just can’t do a scene like this justice.

Happy Aloha Friday from Salem Oregon. Today the High is suppose to be 47°F with rain.

Last Sunday we got back from 3 weeks in Australia (Phllip Island, Melbourne, and Tasmania). We left Melbourne at about 1:40 pm on Sunday and landed at PDX at about 5:30pm on Sunday. Love the International Dateline. When we got to our car in long term parking Patti discovered she was missing her Wallet. We searched the Bus we rode in from the Terminal. We also contacted Alaska Lost and Found. No luck. We got the number for Lost and Found LAX and PDX. When we got home Patti called and cancelled the two Credit Cards in her Wallet. But not looking forward to replacing all her ID. Called PDX Lost and Found Monday morning. They had her Wallet. All ID, Credit Cards, and Cash still in Wallet. Back to PDX to retrieve.

Happy Aloha Friday from the First Coast! A beautiful morning i the mid-50’s and topping out in the mid-70’s today. We‘re working on re-potting some old plants and maybe getting a couple of new ones to place on our patio today. We got some shiny new pots at Costco that need some vegetation in them.

Happy Aloha Friday. It's currently 73 with a high of 81; it's been windy most days (not complaining cuz it feels great). Unlike @slip and @easyrider it was too cloudy to see the moon here.

DW and I took 3 of our dogs near Kualoa Beach Park earlier this week and they had a fantastic time. One of them picked up a scent and started tracking; about 100 yards later, a mongoose took off and scrambled into a nearby wooded area.

Not from the same trip, but here's the tracker near the same area.

Happy Aloha Friday! Here in Hades, CA, we are having a couple days of nice soaking rain which is perfect timing, because we just got the last of our plant starts and seeds planted! My 6 little tomato starts on the right are growing like crazy and the potted Plumeria on the far end is leafing out:

Happy Aloha Friday!

Eight days ago the Twin Cities got 10" of snow.

Today it was 73 degrees. White Bear Lake still has ice, and some fool didn't get his ice house off the lake in time. The DNR has to send out an airboat to pull it out before it sank. The owner will be fined and will also be charged with the cost to remove it.

Tomorrow night it's supposed to go down to 27 degrees. It's a weather roller coaster this time of year.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! We have had a couple tomato plants start producing really well since February and we still have 13 tomatoes on the vines with more blossoms coming in everyday. It still seems strange picking tomatoes in February and March.

This week's picture keeps us on Molokai and comes from our lanai. After a few days of being very cloudy and overcast, the skies finally cleared off today, after the clouds started to breakup some last night.

Enjoy and have an Awesome Aloha Friday and a Great Weekend!!!🤙🏻🌴🌺😎

Happy Aloha Friday!

Hawaii is not the only place with pretty sunsets. We've had quite a few in the Twin Cities the past month.

Happy Aloha Friday! @slip your comment reminded me that one of my mango trees (dwarf Julie) has flowers! I'm very excited since this will be the first year for fruit. This particular tree has resilience. I left it in the original planter too long (roots managed to get through the bottom and dig into the ground below the planter). Then I planted in a location only to move it 3 months later. I thought I killed it then. I'll post pictures when it happens. I also have a dwarf Rapoza that I thought would produce before the Julie. Presume this one needs another year to fruit. I'm definitely excited!

On a completely different note, DW and I went to the Honolulu Zoo on Saturday. I've never been. I don't go to town often, but decided to spend some time at the zoo and grab lunch at a local restaurant. Here's a picture of of some lemurs. While not pronounced like my last name, a couple tweaks make it close...and some of our friends call us Lemurs; so I had to snap a pic and send to them.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! It's starting to get a get a little quieter around here as the snowbirds are heading back home. That means the summer temps are right around the corner.

This week picture takes us over to Kauai to Kalapaki Beach. The beach is lined with surfboards and kayaks for people to rent and enjoy the water. Afterwards, you can walk over to Duke's for some lunch.

Enjoy and have an Awesome Aloha Friday and a Great Weekend!!!🤙🏻🌴🌺😎

Aloha Friday!

We love eating at Duke's! We check the cruise ship schedule for Kauai before we book Duke's, because it's fun watching ships carefully wiggle their way out of the narrow Nawiliwili Harbour. When we went in February 2020, the Star Princess was leaving the port. We had booked a cruise on the Star Princess later that year, but of course it was 2020 and the cruise was canceled.

Happy Aloha Friday from Coastal Virginia. Today's temperatures sure reach 60 degrees. But tomorrow and Sunday temperatures will reach in the lower eighties 80's.

Aloha from Salem Oregon after a couple sunny days in the 70's we are back to rain and highs in the 50's. I did get the lawn mowed, seeded, and fertilized before the rain started. I raked out the winter moss and one of the fertilizers was heavy in Iron to help kill the moss.
