We can't figure out how to get to the gallery view using the website. DW uses a Windows laptop and can't find a setting that puts everyone up. Any clues?

You can find the view settings right on your screen. In my Mac environment it is the upper right corner of the screen. Click there and look for the view icon.

I've now been using Zoom for about a month for working from home. Everyone needs to quickly learn that you don't have to keep your camera and/or your microphone on at all times. There are some things better left unseen.

You should be able to get it simply by scrolling to the upper right portion of your screen. You will see an icon that allows you to adjust the view from Gallery to other options and back to Gallery. Here is a link to Zoom's Help Center, which has a pretty robust library of training videos on a variety of topics.

I just discovered a new feature on Zoom. You can customize a Personal Link with your name or any word in it. It links to your Personal Meeting ID and goes to your PeRonald Meeting Room. You can give out the Personal Link which is customized instead of giving out the number. It is easier for people to remember and gives a more professional look for business use. I upgraded to a Business account so that might be why I have access to this feature. I did not see this feature before I upgraded.

I like the virtual background feature. Airstream (the silver bullet RVs has some cool Zoom virtual backgrounds). My favorite looks like I’m talking to everyone while I’m sitting out in the forest with my really nice Airstream in the backgroun.

As I understand, the main problem is that Zoom has not automatically set the privacy settings and users need to do it themselves. This week, I got an email from Zoom that they are changing policies and starting to auto set the privacy settings. The main setting to set for privacy are the Waiting Room feature so you need to accept anyone before they enter your meeting. Also it is important to set the Host as the only one who can share screens to prevent Zoom bombing. Also it might be better to never record any meetings so that your recordings can’t mistakenly get out onto the internet. I think the main problems have been with large meetings without any settings and with people who record their meetings. IMO, Zoom still works better than other video services and they all have risks.

Don't bother trying to buy a webcam. Use your phone instead.

Since "Safer At Home" I've participated in a number of seminars and meetings via ZOOM and love it! Our association jumped on the bandwagon and I hosted our first board meeting on ZOOM just yesterday. It's the way of the future. We will start hosting member networking Peer2Peer sessions soon!

I have been using Zoom in my business for Telehealth sessions. It has been great. Much better than the video platforms we used before.

That is good to hear - I assume you have not experienced any sessions being hijacked?

That it takes an out of the ordinary event to spur changes and improvements many products and processes require is sort of par for the course but tool / product evolution needs to continue so consumers and businesses can adapt, improve and innovate.
