I think I Am just Going to deed Back Because after reading everything about The Business and people not being Paid, and how badely the Units are I think i should get out while I can. I hate to pay 2500!!!!! But maybe I can get out for 1700.00 like other people said.
Thank you for posting your thoughts on here. Sorry to see you going, but it is an understandable decision. I’m hoping this will work out well for us all.

I did pay the $2,500 but I know other people that paid $1,700 because they complained they couldn't afford it. I got penalized for my honesty.

I find this all interesting. Does anyone know what companies won bids for work? And what was up for bids? It seems they are doing superficial interior work, prior to the roofs? Is there a GC? If so, whats the actual plan? I feel like these are things that they would be highlighting to us owners. But instead it seems like we are getting vague updates and 0 information. Maybe they will go over it on Thursday? Will anyone be in attendance? I wont be traveling up for this but i would like to know what is said/discussed by EV and John Oakes.

I have noticed customer service has not been as robust in their responses recently. For example, all questions have not been answered that I asked and it took 2 attempts to get a response. I remain hopeful. If the RCI points get added to anyone’s account on January 15, as promised, feel free to let us know. I’ll do the same. To be fair, it is a lot for one person to take on in addition to was already on John’s usual task list. I was told it would take at least two years to get all the work done. It is concerning if employees aren’t getting properly compensated though. It will definitely be helpful if some quotes from employees can be shared if available.
What is on Johns usual task list? Do you have intimate knowledge of this?

And remember...he signed up for this. It's not like it was pushed upon him. So, it's not alot to ask of John. Especially, with all he has taken on, I assume he has a team, so it's not 1 person.

This adds to my last comment made. If anyone is going Thursday...can you try and see what the new hierarchy of Eagle Village is? At this point it seems like it is John Oakes and no one else. Curious if anyone else has had interactions with workers there recently.

I personally think its best to get out while they are giving the opportunity. Who knows where this place will go.

I bet it goes the route of STR or hotel style. They probably want everyone to get out to make it easier. It will be interesting today with the board meeting. Is anyone going?

I wonder if the meeting was held due to the weather on Thursday.
I was not able to travel Thursday.
It was held. This is from a local resident/business owner/time share owner who attended:

It was a hostile enviroment. The lawyer for John Oakes (who was not in attendance curiously) told the board member in attendance to 'shut the hell up' at one point in the very beginning.

The emergency meeting consisted of, finding out that John Oakes, DBA 'Bushkill PA LLC' 'bought' 906 deeds, giving him the requisite quorum in order to have his people vote new board members. It was made clear that the dues were not paid for 906 shares purchased. After the names were stated, some other folks said that the 3 people that were nominated to the board were, John's childhood friend, John's current GF, and a 3rd person. There were 2 others that were supposed to be board members, but dropped out last minute. None of them have probably even been here.

The folks who led the meeting, are the same ones who are doing the construction apparently. They showed off the unit, which consisted of fresh paint and nothing elseThey refused to answer questions on what contractors were being used.

There were alot of accusations being thrown around about John Oakes, none of which sound great.

In short, the board was taken over in a very hostile environment and, who knows where it goes from here.

So people are utilizing proxies to state things in order to not face an unnecessary retaliation. After hearing about Thursdays tactics...doesn't sound like that would be too far of a reach.

The problem is, with things the way they are, who will want to buy it from you? I occasionally consider buying into a timeshare in the area as my mother-in-law lives in the Poconos and I'd prefer not to stay at her house when visiting. However after reading about the conditions there and all the ensuing drama and intrigue, Eagle Village is off my list of possibilities. For now we continue sleeping in her living room.

From the reorganization meeting, it sounds like John wants to have a controlling interest so he can update the property and make decisions without a lot of red tape. Thousands of decisions need to be made to get the property up to acceptable standards, having to consult with a board would cause delays. The communications from Eagle Village have been professional and the decisions made and conveyed so far seem to make good business sense. Progress has been made. RCI has been reinstated through negotiations, points have been restored, and renovations are underway. Of course everyone has to consider their own instincts and perspectives, but I remain hopeful that John can follow through and restore the property.

What facts? Please lay them out here. Were you at the meeting?

Why the amount of faith in this mythical figure John? He couldn't even bother to be at the meeting apparently! Must not have made it on his 'task list' you've previously mentioned.

Furthermore...what makes literally anyone, think John Oakes, who according to this meeting, has notice to appears out in PA, which is why he couldn't show out of fear of arrest (his lawyer refuted alot, but not this), seemingly ran the park next door into the ground, evidently does not pay employees or vendors...and just seemingly doesn't know how to run a business...we should trust giving that guy, full control with 0 checks and balances?!

Make that make sense to me. Because it seems like you are sticking up for a guy that is conning the owners here at Eagle Village. I know that folks are now looking into the bylaws of our association to find a way to hold another vote, a real, valid vote which holds our best interests at heart. Not the interests of 1 person.

We found John's account! Makes sense he was throwing the Eagle Village staff under the bus, so he could use that to further his cause of taking over our deeds!

His syntax is the same as his very public Instagram, chatgpt puts it at a 94% match, and he refuses to answer anything! Just throws out vague statements, supports selling our deeds back, and refuses to look at very public, real information. Good luck John! Us owners, we refuse to stand down to your cowardice tactics!

But if he can’t even afford to pay people like they said on face book how can he afford to fix the mold and the roofs with holes??

If he cares why wasn’t he there?! I will have to sell it or give it away I guess

Who knows. I wouldn't be surprised if I showed up for my week this year and the power was turned off. Can't imagine the power bills are cheap

We know you are seeing this Mr Oakes. This is a public forum to state what you actually plan on doing. Please, enlighten us what you want to do with no 'red tape' caused by a rightfully elected board of directors..at the moment.
