How many of you knew there was a hole in the chin of Kauai's Sleeping Giant? It's a very short cave.

Me on the east end of the cave.

We didn't know about it until a hiker returning from the chin told us how to get to it.

How do you like it? DH and I stayed there during Covid, when many things were closed. We enjoyed the location, though, because it was a nice base for driving to various places in the Hill Country.

The boyfriend bought a ring for one of my grand daughters. Every one was in on it telling her that a friend was proposing on the beach. She was expecting this gesture was for some one else. She said yes. Now we have a wedding to look forward to.

It was fun, but I don't think I'll do it again either. If you want to see the hole from the ground, stand on the hill behind the Shell station north of the Wailua River. I tried to take a picture of it with my old camera, but it focused on the power lines instead of the hole. Next time I'm up that way again, I'll try with my 20x zoom camera.

Except for the horrible WIFI (constantly getting dropped) we like it. We have a 2 Bedroom Penthouse. It is huge. Must be at least 1800 square feet. Multiple covered patios. Yesterday we spent the day in Kerrville. Had a great lunch. Can't remember the name. Just a plain good American Food. The folks were very friendly. Though in the Antique Store the the jewelry was drastically over priced. Today we spent the day in Fredericksburg. Shopped, ate lunch, visited with the locals. Jewelry was fairly priced. Tomorrow is a day of rest.

Today is a day of rest. Hot tubbed/Spa this morning. We went into Kerrville for lunch and a few groceries. We wanted to go back to the place we ate the other day but discovered it was only open for Breakfast on Saturdays. It is the 'Hill Country Cafe" on Main Street. Good quality good tasting American Fare. We plan on eating Breakfast there on our way out of Town on Wednesday. So we went next door to Antojitos for a very good Mexican Lunch. Which of course meant my Blood Glucose went up out of the "Green." But it was worth it. I have drunk 2 glasses of water and my Blood Glucose is returning to normal. As my Diabetic Medical Manager keeps telling me it is about choices and not to be so anal. But in more polite langauge. The goal is 75% in the Green. My average for the week is still 99% in the Green. We stopped by an Open House on the way back to the Resort. Huge beautiful well designed Home. The Relator grew up in Washington. He said what would cost a person $1.5Mil in Washington will cost a person about $600,000 here. We also went by Hunt - Country Store, Gas Station, Post Office, Realty Offices, and Volunteer Fire Department. This is obviously a Vacation Area for Texas.

Happy Aloha "Saturday" - We are at our home in Reno for a couple of weeks. CA & NV got a pretty good storm Thursday and Friday, but my Pennsylvania husband wasn't concerned about driving, so off we went! We were fine in our 4WD Jeep, but we did see some spin outs, and there was a 3 truck pileup! Also - the sensor on the front of our Jeep got covered in snow or mud or something, and kept giving us a false collision warning - that was unnerving! The snow at our home has melted, (at 5,000 feet) and we are having a deceptively sunny day - it's still really chilly! Here is the view from my patio right now. This is a view of the "back" of the Sierras, looking west.

Beautiful shot!! I'm glad to not have to deal with snow, that's for sure but I like looking at the pictures. 🤙🏻

This week's pictures keeps us on Molokai and takes us out to Halawa Valley. There are a few awesome places on Molokai for picnics and this picnic table at the shore of Halawa Bay is special. One of the best places on Earth.🤙🏻

Happy Aloha Friday!!! It's time for our annual oil change and tire rotation on the car so we will take a walk to the Bakery for some breakfast while the work is being done tomorrow. Busy times.😀

This week's picture takes us back to Kauai but on the West side in Port Allen. Many boat trips leave from there so it is nice to have Kauai Island Brewery right there. The Brewery started almost 25 years ago in Waimea. Now they are located in both Port Allen and Koloa. It's definitely worth a stop when you are in the area.
