Happy Aloha Friday!!! This has definitely been the coolest winter since we moved to Hawaii and it looks like the same weather will be around a few more weeks. Looks like highs around 82 with lows around 65.

This week's picture takes us back to Oahu and Waikiki. This picture is from Duke's but there are plenty of other places on the other islands that serve this awesome desert. Everyone Loves Hula Pie and it's big enough to share.

Dukes Waikiki used to have the best banana bread at their breakfast buffet but we haven't been there for years. It's been Maui for us but still searching everywhere for good banana bread. We've had plenty of Hula pie and loved it as well. Happy Aloha Friday!!

Happy Aloha Friday! About 2 weeks ago I posted about my GreenStalk planter that I had just set up and was getting ready to plant with bare root Strawberry starts. Unfortunately, my strawberry plants, which were supposed to arrive the next day, were lost in the mail, and they sent me a new batch which arrived 3 days ago. They are planted, and visibly growing, but they don't look like much yet, since they are bare root stock. In a couple of months, they should look like real plants. Locally, full-size strawberry plants sell for $4-5 each, so 42 of them would be $168. (My planter holds 42 plants.) However, the bare root Strawberries were $38.97 for 50 - so a much better deal!

Drive to Hana and you'll see several signs for the best banana bread in Hawaii.

Legendary B-bread (among cyclists) about halfway around Maui's West Loop in tiny town, forgetting name but has many Ks, and is basically the only town anywhere near the middle of the West Loop). Sold out of a house on the ocean side of the road. There is a sign. And if you've been riding the hilly West Loop for 2 hours, it is legendary.
I even brought one back to the activities desk at Royal Lahaina once and they gave it

Happy Aloha Friday!!! It's Good Friday and Easter is Sunday. We did our grocery shopping yesterday and we were surprised that they had normal hours on Friday but of course, closed for Easter.

This week's picture takes us back to Kauai and up to Hanalei Town. This guy in the picture has been hanging around the corner by Kalypso for years. He's always a welcome sight on the way to Hanalei Bay.

Crazy weather your having. I was told to get ready for 85 this Tuesday. It's been 60's and rainy most of the weeks. I hope the 80's happen.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! Wow, the trade winds have been blowing the last few days. It sounds like the wind advisory will be dropped early this evening.

This week's picture takes us back to Hawaii Island in Hilo and The Grand Naniloa Hotel. I took this shot from the room I was staying in during a work trip. This is a Hilton Hotel that overlooks the Port of Hilo and its a nice spot to watch the Cruise Ships come in.
