I thought that I didn't do that well with a five, but I guess it was better than I thought. I had a great start with three correctly placed letters on the second line, but then took me three more lines to come up with the correct answer.
Glad to say I'm in good company with a 5.
I thought I was in danger of bombing out.
I would have used FROZE a lot earlier, but mistakenly thought WORDLE didn't have past tense answers. Or maybe that's a guideline rather than a rule. So I went with noun answers first.
Just in case anyone is interested, my first word was......................................................................................................PLACE
I need a BREAK. I wish I was as AGILE as I used to be. After those two laments, I had the LE at the end and a pretty good idea the A was third, xxALE. I thought of SHALE, STALE and WHALE. I chose correctly!
Same for me, Jeff. I thought sure I had it with my fourth.
My RANGE of letters got nothing with my first try. Only found an O when I opened the SPOUT. Completed the search for vowels with DOILY and finally got the O and I in correct positions. I deduced that letters three and four must be double letters and I thought of MOMMY first. Nope, think harder! Word games are a fun HOBBY!
Just FYI, I've been using the previous day's WORDLE as a short term memory exercise.
I try to remember my starter word, answer and number of guesses. I always remember the number . And most times the answer.
The starter is hardest and best test since DH have been alternating giving each other the starter.
Remembering all 3 is not as easy as it sounds. I chose yesterday's starter and couldn't remember it!
I got tired of either “same old same old” starter words or wracking my brain for one. I’ve been using synonyms to, or words suggested by, the previous day’s solution. I couldn’t think of a good synonym from yesterday’s WHALE, so I went with whale behavior and debated between flume and spout, choosing SPOUT as my starter.
