A ROUGH start with METAL getting zilch. ROUGH found O and R out of position. PRIOR got those in the right place and added a P which had to be last, leaving me with xRxOP. DROOP is what my spirit did when I failed at Connections after completing Wordle.

I took a somewhat unusual route and got lucky with a three.

EMPTY popped into my head as I started Wordle, or maybe my head was just EMPTY. At any rate, I got an E and Y. I thought I had stumbled into the answer but had to YIELD until I thought of FLYER.

Tough word. I got it in five after what I thought were good answers on lines three and four. Took me a while to even come up with a reasonable word for line five.

I never expected the Y to be in the correct position with STYLE. Was just aiming for more good consonants. Still it took me awhile to come up with the answer based on the letters I had.

AMEND didn’t do much, locating only an N. I moved it to the end with SPURN and was spurned. So, I moved it in the other direction with NIGHT. That was the right TONIC,

Me too. I had four greens on my second guess but there were a few possibilities for that last letter.

Good first word gave me three letters. Was hoping for a solution in two, but took three tries to solve it.
