A surprising three. Only one letter after two entries, and, with the letters that I had eliminated (most the vowels were gone) and the remaining locations for that one known letter, I was really searching for any word that would fit.

I’m with the fives. Tough word for me.

I left no STONE turned. FLUID got L and I out of position. I thought LILAC was a good guess but it wasn’t correct. I thought maybe a double L word might be in play and I thought of KRILL which I used for bait in getting the I and L in correct position, finally. A quick look showed the R had to go in fourth position, leaving me with xxIRL and I took a WHIRL at it.

I decided to take a chance with the double L's in GRILL. Was surprised to see L place only at end. My next two options were TWIRL and WHIRL. I went with WHIRL cause of the old Whirl-a-gig rides in summer carnivals.

I had the last four letters after my second guess and two options for the first letter. Of course, I chose wrong.

I have a cardiologist appointment today so I opened with HEART. Three letters out of position. I rearranged those letters with RANGE and was left with xARGE. Either BARGE or LARGE. It was a large mistake.

curse, curse, curse, curse! I had it in two, had it typed in, didn’t hit enter! Kept thinking and talked myself into something else.

I have no idea where LIKEN came from but it was productive. I perused my keyboard and saw FIEND almost immediately. and did everything but hit enter. I then saw MINCE and SINCE were possibilities and tried MINCE. I’m still kicking myself.

Still angry that @Sandi Bo beat me with a two yesterday (not really), I came in with a two today. (I was actually struggling to find a word that fit on line two, so it was not the total miricle that when I finally found one, it was correct.)
