OMG a 2 !!!

I must not be fully awake yet, cause I'm not as shocked as I would be later in the day when I'm more cognizant :D

I wanted to check for the 'S' and since the 'N'
and 'A' were present it made sense to put them together at the beginning of the word. I initially could think of no-way words, SNAG, SNARL, SNAIL, then ...SNAFU. I wasn't sure it was a word , but what the heck, Wordle will tell me if it isn't. And if not the answer then it would at least r/o the S, F and vowel U.
And I wouldn't put it past WORDLE to use a word ending in a U!!!

In hindsight, SNACK would have been a more reasonable guess, but I just didn't think of it at the time ...

FOUR
I wasn't sure if it was a word, either. And, yeah, I went for SNACK first, lol.
Googling - it is slang, guess that counts, I'm kind of surprised. I like the word better now, I can use this one (Situation Normal, All F...... Up)

Sheesh! Five. @dsmrp, well played!
For some illogical reason, SMART crossed my mind this morning and I didn’t remember playing it before so I did. Not too bad The starting S and middle A. I briefly entertained an elimination word but there just seemed to be too many possibilities which would probably require using two elimination words. I decided to go for it. I tried SPACE and nothing. Next, I went with SHADY. Nada! Now, I got morbid with SLAIN. An N that must now be the second or fourth letter. Since the T and E are out, I think it has to be second leaving me with SNAxx. I come up with SNAFU pretty quickly because the last two letters sum up my feelings about the Wordle gods very well! (n)

Sigh. A fake two. Mom was told three times “don’t say the answer” when Cliff was showing her his phone across the Easter brunch table. This is the same mom “don’t let the cat out, DON’T LET THE CAT OUT, Mom,you just let the cat out”.

I can’t believe this. I’m actually not feeling well. My blood pressure has been up for the past week or so and I have never had high bp. In fact, it has always been low. I’m anxious about it and didn’t sleep well last night. So, as I was trying to think of my starter word this morning, I was thinking about not feeling well and I thought “ under the weather”. I thought UNDER wouldn’t be a bad start and WOW!

Congratulations!!!!!

After guess 1, I still had a lot of options for xxDER words, almost all of which used O or U. So I used MOUNT at guess 2, to check for O and U as well as two new consonants.

After guess 2, there was only one solution.

I think so for Wordle. I actually got a one in Word Guess which is one of the copycat games several months back. But, that’s not like getting it here in the real Wordle.

i came so close to UDDERing the wrong word for 5, thankfully I thought of UNDER before I hit enter

FWIW - one reason why I started using AIDER as my typical starter word is because xxxER words are the most difficult because there are so many words that end in ER. Remember how many flame outs there were when the Wordle word was PARER?

So I decided that I want to know right away if the solution is an ER word, so I can start working through the options. In today's puzzle, even knowing the word was xxDER after guess 1, it seemed there were still too many choices to start going through them one-by-one.
