3 for Wednesday- both times -- I am travelling and seems like my phone and computer didn't sync up correctly. 2nd time around I thought it was a new puzzle - wondering now what my stats will look like.
FYI - At 1:30am Eastern I did see Thursday's puzzle - Wordle gods messing with me and time zone changes maybe? I'm a four for Thursday, will post later so I don't spoil things for my friends in Hawaii

Wasn't really trying to solve at guess 3. I figured that it was more likely that A was in position 2 than position 5, so I was looking for xAxIx. Of the untested consonants, M, G, and C were among the most common, so MAGIC seemed like a good word to narrow down the consonants.

I got a four but it took me a minute.

I started with HONEY but it wasn’t sweet to me, at all. Next, I tried CRAFT and got the A and C both out of position. I had a brain fart on my next guess and left the A in the same position with BLACK. No additional letters. At this point, I took several minutes surveying the keyboard before I finally came up with MAGIC.

4 for me too. I foolishly put a vowel in the same place on my 2nd guess. I thought I came up with some good but wrong guesses.

Several days ago I got the same results on guess 1, and I used STARE for my second guess. Today I decided to use a different word, and I thought CRATE would be a good choice, looking for a C instead of an S.

CRATE was a good choice. When the dust settled, the only solutions I could find were CACHE and CAUSE. I had a hunch that CACHE was the word of the day. But realistically, when I follow my hunches, I'm right only about half the time. Which means that my hunches are are really just arbitrary guesses.

I was listening to BIRDS this morning. The gods didn’t care. I tried THYME and found the ending E plus an H. I initially thought the H was probably the first letter but I couldn’t come up with anything. For some unknown reason CACHE popped into my head and I went with it. Good decision. Happy Friday, everyone.

Wow, I'm impressed with all of you who got it in 3. I was lucky to get it in 4 after having only 1 letter after 3 guesses. The answer just popped into my mind and at that point I thought "what the heck?"
