It wasn’t quick, but I got A TWO! Woohooo!
My FIRST word found I and S both in their correct positions. I thought the last letter could be a Y but I couldn’t find a good word. I thought the third letter might be an S but I couldn’t find a good word. Then, I started using different vowels in position 3 and when I got to O, I found the KIOSK I’d been searching for.

We both got it in four as well. I was stumped for the longest time. I walked away for a little while to do laundry.

I‘ll join the fours.
I opened with PLUME and found an E out of position. I thought maybe the E was the starter so I went with EVICT. I was wrong but did find the ending T. GREAT looked like a great guess and it was, getting the EAT in position. My only options were WHEAT and SWEAT. I went with SWEAT, fortunately.

I am one of those who likes to change the opening word every day, but I have always used words that contain two vowels and a "t." I decided to move out of my comfort zone and use a word that did not have a "t," but an "n" (another very common constanant) instead. So how did it work ...

Back to my apparently-typical four. That's fine with me.

Five

I was getting a bit anxious after CRUMB, when I was having a hard time thinking of where to go after that. I could feel them approaching, starting to feed on my anxiousness. So I stepped away for a few minutes, to collect myself. I came back, and figured the U was in position 2, leaving the R for position 1, 3, or 4. HURRY was a possible solution, and if it wasn't correct it would pinpoint the location of the R. After HURRY, the solution was RUxxY, and RUDDY was the only word I could find to fit.
