Also, a four.
FINAL seemed like a good word for Friday morning and it yielded an A. With my second guess, I wanted to move the A and try an E with some common consonants. STARE got the A in correct position and confirmed an E somewhere other than the end. I had a brain fart on try 3 and promptly forgot the E but it actually didn’t do any damage. I tried POACH and found an H. So, I have A in middle position. An E that must go in position 2 because I can’t think of any words for it being in position 1 or following the A in position 4. The H has to go in position 1 because it doesn’t work in 2 or 4. So, HEAxx. HEADY or HEAVY. I chose HEADY.

Four. I'm seeing a trend here.

Five

Though I went to five, there was no danger of bombing out. After guess 3, my solution list was GEEKY, WEEDY, and DEBUG. At guess 4, WEEDY would either be correct of it would eliminate all options but one.

A very fast four.
It’s a rainy morning and I heard thunder a few times during the night so I opened with STORM. Nothing! I decided to use ADIEU for the first time in a long time to flush out the vowels and found E, U and I all out of position. DEUCE was my first thought and it got the DE in correct starting positions and relegated the U to fourth position. I went with my first thought again, DEBUG. It was a very fast four as I just went with my first thought after each attempt.

I thought I had it in 4, but alas went to 5.

I thought of using FUDGE as my 3rd guess,
even tho the vowels would be in wrong place.
Would have saved me 1 guess...
I was trying to come up with "Re-" words. Don't know why I didn't think of DE.

Four, but it was a toughy for me. After my third word I was only coming up with words that used one of the eliminated letters. Finally, after a lot of thought, I came up with the answer.

Me too. On my fourth guess, I had five yellows. I just had to figure out what an anagram of that word was for my fifth guess.

Well, hellfire! Five for me, but apparently you guys weren't much better. I came to lick my wounds, but now I feel less crappy than I did a minute ago. There's hope! :D

Three
CRAMP was an elimination word, testing for PIANO, NADIR, and MANIC. After CRAMP bombed on C, R, M, and P, GIANT was the last option I could see.

No sustenance to the Wordle gods today.

Four.
I should have known the gods would have no reverence for SUPER Sunday. Not one single SUPER letter. Sheesh! Going for some common consonants next, I tried CLOTH. Got a T out of position. I wanted to try A, I and Y but also move the T with my third try but I couldn’t think of a word that would do all that. I finally settled on FAINT. Excellent haul. GIANT? The Giants aren’t in the Super Bowl. Crazy gods! (I’ll probably pay for that tomorrow.) Anyway, hope all my Wordle friends enjoy the Super Bowl!
