Abound contest

It looks like the contest this week has helped Sheraton Vacation Club boost their followers on Facebook. I recall it being 1,000 followers when I clicked through yesterday and now they are at 1.7K.

Those who won 500 points, has anyone actually received them?

I won 500 points on January 20 and on January 21. I haven't received either yet.

Did you win?

Yes, 500 points. I only own legacy Marriott and Vistana weeks, so only have access to Abound via mandatory Vistana weeks that are in VSN. I don't know when and where those 500 points will be deposited. When I actually get those 500 points, I will try renting some points from others to see how it works, if I can combine them to make an Abound reservation.

When they show up, they should be available to book when you click through on the booking link from Vistana.com. I have 200 PlusPoints sitting in our account from an owner update and can book them the same way or when going through our enrolled Marriott weeks account.

Very nice! I've been playing every day but have only won sweepstakes entries.

Thanks! I only need to win a similar amount about fifty more times to stay at a category six…err, I mean a four star hotel in a major metro area. For one night. ;)

I just won 500 PlusPoints or 11,200 BonVoy points!

Are PlusPoints the same as Club Points?
For the most part yes. You can use them just like regular points and can combine them with your points to book.
Only difference is that you can't bank them past their expiration and they usually have a longer period of usage (vs 1 year for regular points.)
They are also usually what they will offer you as a sales inventive when you buy. Nice to have and if you can use them for a Destination escape can get some major value out of them.

I only get sweepstakes entries and today I only got 1 entry which is like the loser prize of loser prizes.

Thanks. I received a registration email from the group that is administering the Abound Contest. Looks like they will be in my account in about 30 days.

They state that they are good for 24 months. Can’t be banked or converted to BonVoy points.

We can use them for MVC stays in Las Vegas and Palm Springs - Sweet!

Just won 1,000 Bonvoy points. Still haven’t got the 2 x 500 PlusPoints I won January 20 & 21.

We still haven't received the 2,000 Bonvoy points we won back in week 1.

It wouldn't surprise me if they wait until the contest is over to distribute all the prizes, so don't hold your breath, it may be a couple of months....

You might be right. However, the notification emails says "If you are approved, we'll do our best to get your prize to you as soon as possible, usually within 30 days after winner confirmation is complete. We appreciate your patience in the event it takes longer to fulfill your prize." That's consistent with what the rules say.

Ah, then I am probably mistaken. I haven't won anything other than more sweepstakes entries, so haven't received one of those emails.

We just entered week 5, so early winners of "stuff" should theoretically start to get them soon, according to the text of the email. Well, depending how long "winner confirmation" takes...
