I was able to participate the first couple of days. I "won" a couple of grand prize entries. Now I receive "Merkle Contest". Merkle is probably the tech provider of the contest. Apparently, they have broken infrastructure. I feel "Bonvoyed".

I am not sure that this is always true. I click on the email link, then I am transported to the Vistana login page and then the contest page

Sadly a Zonk. Marriott used to give out cards for those every time you would visit the concierge. It was often the "free gift" to get you to go over there so they could talk you into attending an Owner Update.

Does anyone ever actually go through with having those made? I’ve received “free” certificates for them elsewhere that always seem to leave out the existence of a shipping and handling charge. Never really needed something else to dust enough to be worth ordering one.

I think we had one made once. I don't remember if there was a charge for shipping, but I think they made money off people adding pages or additional features. I am sure ours is somewhere collecting dust.

We actually get one done for almost every meaningful trip we go on. It's nice to look at the photos once in a while and see how the kids have grown from trip to trip. For example, I have one for USVI 2013, 2017 and 2021 where in the first one my son was just 2 years old. I'll also send copies to the grandparents sometimes or give individual copies to the kids for them to keep.

I don't stick to a particular service - sometimes it's Shutterfly, sometimes Picaboo, sometimes Snapfish - whoever has a good deal going on. Snapfish always has coupons on the site and Shutterfly always has Groupons like the one below (gives you an idea what that 8x8 book prize is really worth...). They do probably make most of the money on the shipping which is $10-$15, but for a couple of books a year it's a nice souvenir I think. We used to do the 8x8 books, but those are pretty small. I now default to the 8x11 ones for longer trips (sometimes even 12x12) and upgrade to "layflat" pages for some more memorable trips.

I am a Starwood owner (yes, I have separation issues) and to play I have to go through Dashboard-->Pay Member Dues which transfers me to the MVCI through Single Sign On. I can't sign on directly since that requires a ID# that is only provided (as far as I know) on a paper bill. I paid on-line and that ID was not shown (If I ask for the statement the system cannot return that page). After reaching MVCI the link to the contest works in a new tab or window.
