[ 2019 ] Instructions on cancelling your recent Wyndham timeshare purchase

Another sucker here. Just signed up yesterday looking to get out. Just to clarify this is the wording on my contract. I’m assuming it’s 10 days after signing contract? Will send in certified letter when we get home in a day. Hopefully it goes smooth and credit card gets refunded . Appreciate your help just want to make sure this is the rescind section of the contract

Looks like you got it covered, but for warm fuzzies... did you notice the sticky at the top of this Club Wyndham forum?

Glad you found TUG, etc, etc. Welcome!

yes please let us know how much you saved!

Good Evening Everyone, Wyndham got us again in the Smokey Mountains Tennessee with signing an extra contract on top of what we have already, Why do we put ourselves through this, but after thinking about it and looking in our contract, We emailed the rescissions dept the day after we signed the contract which was one of the ways to send a rescissions letter and emailed them our contract and sent a letter and our contract certified and next day delivery via USPS a few days later when we got home. It says in the contract that we have 10 days to cancel if we did an on-site inspection property which we did not do an on-site inspection because we were staying there after signing the contract, and 15 days if we did not do an onsite inspection of the property after signing the contract. Our contract stated 3 ways to cancel within the cancelation period 1.) was hand deliver the letter to 6277 Sea Harbor Drive, Orlando Florida 32821, 2.) was send a letter via USPS to 6277 Sea Harbor Drive, Orlando Florida 32821, and the third way was sending notice of cancelation via Electronic Mail at Rescissions. WVR@WYN.com, time stamped within the designated period for voiding the contract. This was a lot of pages (maybe 20 pages) into the 48-page contract. I am hoping emailing them and sending them the rescission letter gets us off this contract which it spells out on the contract, but they are a timeshare company and don't trust them. Wonder why it takes about a little over an hour to sign and buy one of these but it takes a few days to cancel and if you are over the cancelation period, it is impossible to get rid of these timeshares or the contracts. Laws need to change for the buyers. Never again we are signing any contracts with timeshare companies. The downpayment was on a newly opened CC, we just got the CC today but didn't activate the cc yet, Would the down payment still get put back on the CC if its not activated? I think Wyndham already took the payment out from the CC, Any answers or comments will help. Thanks.

The cancellation process is deliberately cumbersome and difficult in the hopes of discouraging folks from taking the time and effort to follow through and rescind.

Remember when "rebates" on retail purchases were popular? Buy a certain product, then cut some of the packaging off and send the purchase receipt to some address and wail for a rebate check within 10 weeks. This same product could easily have had an instant rebate at the cash register but the producer figured that a lot of folks wouldn't be bothered with seeking a rebate by mail (and the producer enhances their bottom line).
