You're Being Lied to About Electric Cars

Will the locking diff. go bad if you never engage this feature?

Not really. Even though the locker isn't engaged it is still getting lubrication in the differential. What ever is in contact with the locker could cause the locker to not operate due to corrosion , pinched wires or hoses and bad relays.

It was a great company to sell short
The Green Hydrogen dream is a fantasy of laboratory breakthroughs
Maybe it will happen that Hydrogen can be produced at a low cost using cheap and plentiful sunlight
At this point
Not happening
All the current ways of producing lower cost hydrogen produce large amounts of Greenhouse gases

It seems that are they are almost always ready with all of the break through tech and research with hydrogen but haven't been able to create a marketable product that is better than gas. Maybe the mater / anti-mater reactors using dilitium crystals show up before cold fusion hydrogen reactors are built, lol.

I've seen working models on YouTube where a Physicist explains the process. To me it looks like the two magnetic confinement devices is the direction this is going even though both have problems including they aren't as cheap as gas.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk Reveals Nuclear Energy Powered Car & SHOCKS The Entire Car Industry!

Yeah, the company that shills a working prototype of a hydrogen powered class 8 truck (semi truck) that was actually just an unpowered shell rolling down a hill with deceiving camera angles, deserves to die.

Its rise was fueled by bold promises from founder Trevor Milton, who was later convicted of securities fraud in 2022 for misleading investors about the company’s zero-emissions technology.
The company captured headlines after it admitted to doctoring a promotional YouTube video. In the video, the manufacturer rolled a truck down a hill, claiming it was operating under its own power - but in reality, it was simply taking advantage of gravity.
As they say in the Tech World: "Fake it u til you make it."

This thread is full on EV Derangement Syndrome.

Hydrogen Has Failed In Cars And It Won’t Be Powering Trucks Either

“We used to think that battery electric was only going to be for a city car, but suddenly it has migrated into a medium-sized family car and then into an SUV. Now you're seeing the Ford E-transit come out with a larger battery and much better range than the original.” Renault-funded Flexis is hoping to develop this space too. “Now EVs are migrating into 16-ton, 26-ton, 44-ton, even 264-ton mining trucks. Customers are buying these now and using them for their normal pattern of journeys.”

Bought a 2025 Toyota Sienna Hybrid Friday. Does it count?🤣🤣🤣

If I was going to buy a hybrid - it would be a Toyota/Lexus. I'm assuming you mean a HEV and not a PHEV?

Those Siena's look pretty sharp, imo. If we were wanting a minivan it would be a Siena.

But of course Toyota has plenty of other non-plug-in hybrid cars, - corolla, highlander, etc

I like the v-6 4runners but my wife likes the Lexus. I was thinking Lexus is just a luxury Toyota until we test drove a couple. I'm getting use to the Lexus front grill which is kind of loud, imo.

Same here but I'm more of a Toyota 6 cylinder fan. While I always thought the Prius was an ugly car the newer model looks much better, imo.

Not bad - it's official now - Tesla - yet again - had the best selling passenger vehicle on earth for 2024:

For the US market - the MY came in spot #4 according to Car and Driver's top 25 best selling US vehicle list:

Not bad really - only the Toyota RAV4 outsold the MY here in the states, along with the GM and Ford pickup lines in the top two spots (which has been the case for a long time now). The mere fact that an EV does this well - is telling on some level at least to me. The MY is newly refreshed as of January 2025 - much quieter, much smoother ride, higher quality interior materials, better audio system, etc. will it hold onto the top global sales spot three years in a row? I for one don't think it will hold on to this spot for 2025 - for a combination of reasons - but only time will tell.

The last several coupes/sedans I owned as my daily driver were all V6 manuals. Made due with I4 manuals in my early driving years in a 1989 Honda Prelude followed by a 1993 Mazda MX-3 - both I4 manuals. Then I moved into V6s, and stepped up to a 1993 Mazda MX-6 LS 5-spd manual - loved that car - then a 1999 Ford Contour SVT 5-spd manual - followed by a 2006 Nissan Altima SE-R 6-spd manual. By then my daughter hit driving age and my sports coupe/sedan days came to an end - moved into a 2008 Honda Accord I4 automatic sedan - then drove a 2006 Honda Odyssey for several years (just commuting back and forth to the train station during the week). Then I got into pickup trucks with a used 2012 RAM 1500 automatic - then into my current ride - a 2018 RAM 1500 Limited Tungsten edition hemi pickup bought new.

I agree that the Model Y is likely to be dethroned in 2025 for a variety of different reasons, despite the new refresh offering a very compelling package. Just yesterday we traded in our Model 3 for an inline 4 with manual transmission; Mazda Miata. It came as a bit of a surprise to us that we were choosing to take the Lightning almost every time we went somewhere, so we're back to having a fun second car.

It’s hard to beat the utility of a modern pickup truck. They drive like cars these days, and the higher end models have luxury features that rival most luxury cars. It’s nice having a weekend car for sure. I still have my eye on some kind of convertible weekend ride eventually, though I’d more likely go for a Camaro ZL1 or a newer vette or something similar if I had my druthers. I had a weekend Camaro SS 6-spd manual t-top for a few years back 20 years ago now. I still miss it.
