My husband and I recently sat through an HICV timeshare presentation in Gatlinburg. We liked what we heard but we are extremely glad we didn’t buy now that I’ve found this site. However, we are still very interested in buying one resell just don’t know what would be best for us.
We are avid cruisers, but typically go to Florida (Daytona/Orlando) at least once a year. We have stayed at a HICV and Hilton Grand Vacations resorts and preferred the HGV more. This year we are staying at Marriott Grand Vista, but we have never been to this resort before.
Through my research the points systems between HICV and HGV is much different (was looking at 200k points with HICV and 8k points with HGV). As we cruise more than land vacation, we don’t want something with big MF in case we don’t use them one year. Does anyone have any suggestions between the two? And are they both able to utilize RCI? Any help/advice would be appreciated.
** Also, we are from West Virginia and I saw some postings on eBay that says WV residents can’t purchase. Does anyone know anything about that?
