US Marriott Points vs Asia Pacific Points, or should I be looking at others like Hyatt, Hilton or Welk points?

I am a Bonvoy Platinum and looking into buying into Marriott Timeshare for Marriott Points to trade in during prime vacation weeks (skiing week 51 or 52, President's weekend, Spring break/Easter vacation, summer mid June-first week of August or Thanksgiving). What is the best Marriott points system or Marriott Traders that I need to make sure I can easily trade/book with the lowest maintenance fees? (I have kids so I can only vacation during prime school vacations).

Thanks for your assistance

If you want prime weeks, you will likely find yourself disappointed if you try to trade in. Certainly if you want a prime Skiing Week 51 or 52, buy one resale. President's Week in non-ski locations you can usually book if you own weeks or points. Similarly, we have found Easter and Summer to be bookable with points so long as you book at 9:00AM at 13 or 12 months.

That said, resorts that have seasons in which Summer are high demand for weeks that have seasons that extend for longer (e.g. Newport Coast) are known to be quite difficult to book in summer.

Unless you're willing to list multiple resorts and different weeks for different times of the year as well as planning a full 12-13 months out, I'm not sure MVC will work for you. I think both points and trading weeks could work but you're going to have to be willing to be flexible within your limitations which means being open to multiple of those options you list in a given year. Or you're going to have to buy the specific option you want which might be costly.

Do you know if I can exchange into US or European Marriott resorts using Asia Pacific Points while staying in the Marriott Points System?

Trading into prime weeks is not going to happen, other than as a rare fluke. Doesn't matter weeks or points. If you want a ski week 51 or 52, then buy that fixed week resale at a resort you want to go every year, or at least every other year. Don't count on trading.

Yes, ever since Asia Pacific Points were aligned (although not integrated) with Destination Club Points they allow you to book all of the same Worldwide resorts.
They just provide a separate system for you to do so.
