Song Of The Day.

On this day (2/9) in the year 1964 (60+ years ago)...
The Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan show.

Edvard Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King,
played by The London Symphony Orchestra.
Note the conductor's enthusiasm.

Kind of sounds like an Earth Wind and Fire song called September.
That's about the size of it.

Read recently that this is about trying to write a song at 25 or 26 to 4AM.

Lyle Lovett and His Large Band put on a great show. We saw them in Pendleton Oregon a number of years ago. The sound check went on for about half an hour in the afternoon before the show and was great too. He gets the best musicians and singers. One of the many terrific musical talents from Texas, including Willie and Waylon.

The Travelling Wilburys... "We'll bury the errors in the sound mix."
...Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty.

Chris Gafney reminds us that "You've got to lift up your leg a little bit higher when you're running around with the big old dogs"

I didn't know this was a song before Jesus Christ Superstar. Maybe it isn't. We were listening to Jesus Christ Superstar this week because of Easter.
