I think everyone is forgetting that Sheraton/Marriott merger is not going to let 'resales' people to get the same benefit as direct owners! Do you really think that this merger is going to let resellers get the same benefits as those that actually bought into the system??...Really! Do you think that Marriott/Sheraton people are stupid? I think the days of getting around the system is going to be harder and harder....

No. But if you retro/requalify free points, you are much ahead of others in $ per point.

I am not sure this even applies for the OP though. They want to book Steamboat and Steamboat seems to have a fair bit of inventory in Sheraton Flex. They can book that at the 12 month mark regardless of whatever new system Marriott has cooked up.
