Does anyone know how to get a copy of the most recent version of the MVCI Destinations Points Trust Disclosure Statement?

This would be the document that must be given to all new purchasers of DP. I'm unsure of what form it is in now as it is a massive document. It used to be given as a CD-ROM but I think that has changed now.

No new Vistana deeds conveyed to the trust? Shouldn't we have more as we are getting closer to the launch?

Nothing new. In the past Marriott has conveyed inventory about two times a year.

It seems in 2010 they conveyed in July and October. The needs may be different now, a lot more Marriott enrolled week owners/trust owners you want to create inventory for.

Perhaps, but I doubt it. These conveyances cost thousands if not tens of thousands of dollars to process and record. The more weeks they can convey in a single notice, the cheaper it is per week.

Second load added in mid February (recorded March 8th) 2023.

Some notable additions.
  • It looks like they are breaking apart SDO Company 47 vs 49.
  • Saw the first addition of Westin Ka'anapali.
  • It looks like they must have approval for the Westin Riverfront as a small amount of inventory is now in the trust.

Interesting- thanks for putting this together!

I hope people buying Abound enjoy going to Orlando. Hardly any Maui, Colorado, or Scottsdale availability in the trust.

Two big omissions on the list for me are WKV and Nanea.

I’ll stick with my deeded weeks as much as possible.

This is just what Marriott put in the trust. It doesn't reflect what Vistana owners elect for Club Points in any given year so the composition of that additional inventory could be significantly different than this.

Just means less inventory for owners at the respective resorts to book at 12 months out.

Yes. I understand weeks that are elected for points will also be available to book.

But the Abound points that are being pushed at sales presentations have trust points that back them. It looks like most of that new inventory to back the sales is Orlando - not the aspirational destinations that are highlighted by sales.

Not necessarily. There may also be less competition. Keep in mind high demand weeks are much more expensive in Abound currency than they are in Vistana where it is just a straight week booking.

I'm kind of astounded at how little Maui is in the trust. Just for context, the 307,000 club points applicable to WKORV represents something like 47 weeks (using oceanview as the benchmark.) That means there's slightly less than one room for each week of the year in the MVC trust at that resort. WKORVN is even less.

So availability at those resorts through Abound is going to be almost completely dependent on owners electing to trade their units for CPs in any given year. This is what most of us have presumed all along, but these numbers make it crystal clear.

This also demonstrates why it's so important for MVC to treat the trust points and the elected points as one big bucket in terms of availability. If they were truly separate, I think they'd need to disclose what is actually in the trust, and what's in the trust is different than what they're selling people on. But by combining with the elected weeks, they don't know from year to year what will be available, and they can more plausibly sell the dream of properties which may in actuality be very hard to book with club points.

Of course, the trust inventory should slowly improve over time as they put buybacks and ROFR weeks into it.

...or any of the 50+ Marriott Vacation Club resorts already in the trust.

Two big omissions on the list for me are WKV and Nanea.

I don't think Nanea will ever show up as it is all in it's own trust. I would suspect WKV will be slow to show up. They can only get those weeks via ROFR or defaults and given the value it has maintained as a StarOption trader, it probably doesn't make economical sense for them to ROFR weeks that generate relatively lower Abound points (were they to deed them to the trust).

Vistana doesn't have ROFR at Kierland. In fact they have ROFR at very few resorts. Unlike Marriott weeks, they can't use ROFR as a reliable tool to reacquire weeks to put into the Abound Trust. They have to rely on foreclosure or trade ins and I doubt they will get many WKV Plat + weeks that way. I suspect we will start to see WKV getting added to the trust, but it will probably be mostly lower season weeks.
