RCI: Trading into HGVC as a Owner

I love HGVC for many reasons, but I also have a non-HGVC RCI trader and have booked back into HGVC in the past and it is a great value. Now, there is a daily $25 resort fee at many HGVC resorts in RCI (affiliates are usually excluded).

I have the option of exchanging into HGVC Las Vegas Boulevard (which is where I own!) and am wondering if any HGVC owners have done this since the resort fee change and had the fee waived?

Does it matter if I am an owner in the computer system?

***Yes this is an exchange question, but since it applies to so very few Tuggers, I figured it would be best seen here.***

IIRC, if you book HGVC via RCI, you pay the fee, regardless.
What matters is that you are not booking thru the "club."
These fees are resorts' way of grabbing $$ from RCI users.

It doesn’t hurt to ask.
I won’t expect it but please let us know if they do.

I asked at the Flamingo and the front desk manager told me it would still be collected (the resort fee) if I traded in by RCI. I have a trip later in the year trading back into the Flamingo HGVC and am only using part of the week (staying 3 nights and throwing the rest of the week away). She said I would only be charged the resort fee for the number of nights I actually stay. So that's better than having to pay for the whole week. But you really shouldn't have to pay a resort fee if you trade in and you're an HGVC owner.
FYI, Trump Las Vegas is not charging (the last I looked) the resort fee. So you can trade in there with RCI and escape the fees.

I will be staying at the Bay Club in Waikoloa later this year on an RCI exchange and I don't believe they charge a Resort Fee to RCI exchanges also.
