owners.marriottvacationclub.com CURRENT IT ISSUES [MERGED]

I got in on the second try and the site is working a bit sluggish.

The website seems to be working fine for me right now and I also made multiple bookings only a few hours ago.

Right now ( Sat morning) The website is down and there is a virus as well

Users of Avast Web Shield (at least on Apple Mac computers) are likely getting the same message I'm getting, which indicates that the website is infected.

"This URL contains malicious code that could harm your computer.
If you’re willing to risk it, you can turn off your Avast Web Shield to continue.
But we strongly recommend walking away from this one."

Whether the website is actually infected, or whether Avast is wrong on this, I would hope that the IT staff at Marriott Vacation Club is now dealing with this situation.

I doubt very much it is a genuine malware/scam issue. Disclosure: my background and traning is in Info Sec. Avast is known for false positive ALOT.

I agree. Avast's reason for blocking the owner login page ("Threat: URL: Scam") is odd. It does not identify malware, domain Impersonation, a virus, or any other specific threat.

Avast's message just seems to suggest that MVC is scam. No matter what anyone thinks about timeshares, MVC is not a scam. It's just a way of paying for vacation accommodations that works well for some people and not so well for others.

A few hours ago, I submitted a form to Avast about this.

Yesterday, I sent email to MVC Owner Services, requesting that my email be forwarded to MVC IT.

I received a reply from a member of the Avast Customer Care Team. It begins like this:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Avast and reporting a false positive URL detection. I'm happy to help.

The reported URL was checked by Avast virus specialists and based on the findings the detection was removed. The website is now marked as clean in the Avast virus database. This change may take up to 1 hour to take full effect. Please accept my apology for the inconvenience caused.

I checked the Owner login page. I was able to login without being blocked by Avast.

I am able to login but my remaining elected club points are now gone. Can't book a reservation or even see my balance.

This morning's error message:

No issues here logging in and navigating.

is anyone having issues logging on
I am signed in using it now, but it is very slow responding.
Update - perhaps I commented too soon, it seems to have frozen now!

Marriott's system is currently not allowing me to do a 13 month consecutive booking. I have two MOC fixed weeks with auto-booked reservations that are 13 months out today & I'm trying to append my Ko Olina weeks to them but their system is refusing to allow it. Owner services support's initial response was that 13 month bookings can now only be done at the same resort & mixing resorts is no longer allowed! My response was that I've been doing this for about 8 years now without any problems & why has this been changed? They're currently looking into it & 'will get back to me'. This is really bad news if it can't be done going forward & greatly reduces the value of my weeks to me.

You will just have to call again to get another agent.

Not the fault of the agent. She had the weeks on hold and was trying to complete the booking but kept getting an error from their system when she went to finalize the reservations. I've just received emails for the reservations she was trying to make so hopefully the problem is resolved (at least for me).
