They should, even Gainesville would be better, they can find a shelter or stay in their car until FEMA aid arrives, there will always be shelter/showers but imperative to leave asap. What most people don’t consider is power/water/fuel/food limitations. All else is replaceable. They are about 5 miles east of the mandatory evacuation area. We'll see if they change their minds as it gets closer.
Depends on the shelter, if it’s higher then rest of the lower laying areas it would be good, but I would have expected free bus transportation from locality/state for complete evacuation unless they missed it?They want us to evacuate our neighborhood and we can go to the shelter across the street. Well how safe is that! It is not further inland, just south.
One if the women started a roll call of who is staying. I know these people and many are in their nineties. I am really worried about them.

Never has there been bus transportation offered. People get themselves there, must bring their own chairs, blankets , water, food. It’s a place to be inside. In this case a park community center and it isnt higherDepends on the shelter, if it’s higher then rest of the lower laying areas it would be good, but I would have expected free bus transportation from locality/state for complete evacuation unless they missed it?
I only ask becauseNOLA has designated bus evac., I would assume Fl. Would have something similar in place, and the superdome is used as shelter where Red Cross and other groups do what they can for providing blanket, food etc…Never has there green bus transportation offered. This is a wonderful thing that you are doing for your family members. We are staring this storm down here in St. Petersburg. We are in a no evacuation zone and are hosting family that are evacuating from zones A and C. We have done everything we can think to do on the outside of the house. We should not have storm surge at this location. Most of my neighbors say they are staying. Just have to get through this.
Yeah, but that is forecast to not even impact the US.There is also Leslie brewing on the East...hope for the best for everyone involved.
Hopefully the shelter has an emergency generator so that when the power goes out they still have AC. Or lights, at least. They want us to evacuate our neighborhood and we can go to the shelter across the street. Well how safe is that! It is not further inland, just south.

Prayers for them. Hopefully they’ll come through safely and can then decide to leave when it becomes apparent how long they’ll be without power and other services. He made his decision, he's staying.
That is great, one less to worry about!Yeah, but that is forecast to not even impact the US.
