How much is gasoline in your area?

And as far as things like mileage capacity and "time to charge" go, please recognize that many people were predicting, during the early days of the Internet, that the Internet was doomed to failure due to how long it took to load pages. Technology advances and advances rapidly.
Sure, but my post was for today when 1.5 megawatts "instant charging" is fake news when cars can charge at only 350 kilowatts, and it takes at least 30 minutes.

Yea, the local gas stations are up to $3.49 advertised, which means it's likely $3.59 for a card, sometimes even $3.79 if they're showing their "Pay Card discount price" which I think is a scam and also technically illegal in NY - you have to advertise the highest price, not the lowest with special discounts, but not enforced as much as I'd like.

Gas stations that I see having pay card discounts (mainly Circle K) show both prices on the sign. They alternate between the regular price and the pay card price. Usually a 10 cent per gallon difference.

Some do, some don't - like I said, in the smaller areas with older equipment, they seem to play fast and loose with NY law. IDK if I should bother to figure out who to complain to TBH.

Where did you say that? That doesn't seem to be clear from your prior post.

I just was referring to the "local places" in my first post and then added clarification that they might be a smaller area and some have older equipment. I realize it may be confusing and perhaps I should have used () instead.

Yeah 10C chargers don't exist in the US, only in China at present - and even those are very very very rare. Most BEVs in America are 400v architectures, which means charge rates top out between 150-250kw at best. 800v/900v architectures can charge up to 500kw in comparison, but again, the vast majority of public chargers out there today are only capable of supporting up to 250kw. Chargers that can charge up to 350-500kw are still very much in the minority. We won't see chargers approaching 10C charge rates here in the US any time soon since there are literally zero BEV manufacturers producing vehicles that can support anything remotely close to a 7-10C+ charge rate (1-1.5MW rate). Tesla is just now building out their MW commercial superchargers out on the west coast - but those are only for the commercial Semi model that is ramping up production later this year - and IIRC the Semi still only uses a 400v architecture. Only the Cybertruck uses a 800v architecture at present from the Tesla lineup. I really wish Tesla would convert over to a 800v architecture for the M3/MY - it would definitely cut down on the charging times when using L3 public chargers.

We own a 2026 MY LR that is my wife's daily driver and we charge at home, so unless we are roadtripping, we charge at home overnight while fast asleep. With rising gas prices today, we take comfort in knowing we won't pay a penny more for electricity in the near term regardless of what happens to gas prices. We also have a 21kw solar array on our home - which helps to minimize our electric bill. I still drive a 2018 RAM 1500 hemi pickup - but it mostly just sits in the driveway since I WFH full time.

I'd really like to buy a Chinese EV that I heard are exceptional and costs only about $20,000. But of course they're banned in the US. In protecting our domestic producers, we apparently don't mind everyone driving a horse and buggy while others have Ferraris.

But they're apparently coming to Canada. I'm wondering if I can buy in Canada and drive it across the border. And would the charging hardware be the same?

You should check the thread on Electric Vehicles. There is a story about the likely brand of EV coming to Canada
Made in China, but a British brand with dealer network already in place

Gas at home is $3.49
