Happy Aloha Friday

Happy Aloha Friday!

Anybody remember the Pohaku T's store in Kōloa Town, Kauai? It was 1/2 a block south of the gas station. He did the designs and printing. She ran the store. We stopped there every year we were in Kauai, and brought them plenty of business from us and whoever we brought along. The designs were creative and most the shirts were heavy duty cotton. They retired several years ago which was great for them, but I miss them. My t-shirts from them are showing their age now, but I still like wearing one of them on Aloha Friday. My favorite is the one that says Pau Hana on the back. Literally, it means "done work" which applies to both me and the former owners.

That is one I missed. It looks awesome. 🤙🏻

Pau Hana, I loved that Logan “done work.”
Their clothing line looks very colorful and very Hawaiian.

I’m done working; wait a minute, I just received a text message from the Commander in Chief. I need to go grocery shopping today.

Happy Aloha Friday !!! I woke up early to make reservations and so did others it seems. My first try looked like it failed and my second try went through and I thought I had it. Nope. I reserved a unit for this next Dec 28 which is Saturday instead of next year. I have to call in a 8 to see what can be done. In my defense I was half asleep while doing this. aghhhh !!!

I called in and they gave the points back but kept the $25 booking fee. I'm grateful for this but still a bit bummed out. I guess I'm gratefully bummed out. There are other options that may work out but the Saturday check in is gone. The silver lining may be the costs of flights on a Monday or Tuesday will be better.

Dec 28 which is Saturday
Availability for tomorrow and a $25 booking fee? What "system", what place is this? We spent 12 days on Oahu this month, and I realize I didn't take a single photo. Too busy enjoying. The weather was maybe the best I've ever had in a 2 wk stretch in HI, maybe winter or summer.

It is a beach front resort that I'm trying to acquire for New Years 2025.

A few years ago I made a similar mistake, the difference being I didn't catch it until after Christmas of the next year. I booked a two bed in Waikiki for New Years Eve for family on Oahu but didn't check the date carefully. I booked Dec 31 but the wrong year so the reservation disappeared out of my account. The bad thing was we didn't get to meet up on NYE and the good thing was we didn't have to meet up on NYE.

Happy Aloha Friday! We are back at our home in Reno for a couple of weeks, where it is very windy, but not very cold - the high today is 52º. We have no snow in the Carson Valley, but there's quite a bit in the Sierras. We are up on a hill so we really get the wind - with gusts up to 40 mph at the moment! I hope we get some snow while we are here - it's a treat for us flat landers from Hades, CA.

Hello from Salem Oregon. Low 50's and wet. Snow in the Cascades. We have already exceeded the average rain fall for the month of December with rain predicted through New's Year Eve.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! It's the first Aloha Friday of 2025 and we wish everyone a Happy and Healthy 2025!!!

This week picture keeps us in Molokai and takes us out to the Kaunakakai Wharf. Since we are in the rainy season, we see many more rainbows during this time of year. Rainbows always seem to bring a smile to everyone's face.

Enjoy and have an Awesome Aloha Friday and a Great Weekend!!!! 🤙🏻🌴🌺😎

I love seeing rainbows. We've seen many in our visits to Hawaii, some lasting up to an hour. Someday I hope to see one of the rare fire rainbows.

Happy Aloha Friday from Salem Oregon. Still rainy and in the 40's and 50's.

Happy Aloha Friday from Kaneohe, HI. It's currently 69 (sunrise in less than an hour) with a high of 81. Last week, I picked the remaining avocados from our tree. The Sharwils were huge this year. We lost approximately 75% of the fruit when they were very young due to high winds. One positive is the remaining fruit grew to be much bigger than normal.

Happy Aloha Friday. For us it's more like Feliz Viernes this month. Sunset from Lindo Mar. The sky is so colorful during and after sunset.

I'll have to watch for these, definitely none yet. Mahalo for the info. Never heard of them before.🤙🏻

We are at our home in Reno, and here is a picture of today's Quail Mosh Pit at the bird feeder, with snow coming over the ridge in the background:

I hadn't heard of them either until I saw the article yesterday.

The snow in the picture is above 6,000 feet, (we're at 5,000 ft.) and it's about 10 miles away. It is snowing hard up there right now, and I'm guessing that some places are a lot more than 3 inches deep. We haven't driven through there since the 26th, and some places had a foot or more, then. They just did the first Sierra snow measurement of the season, and the depth was a little over average for this time of year.

It's always nice to see the bird come into the feeders. We had a few in Wisconsin. 👍

Happy Aloha Friday!!! You can tell it's January as our low temps are reaching the mid-60's and our highs are only about 81. Looks like we may be closing some windows at night at times.

This weeks picture takes us to The Big Island and downtown Kona. Alii Drive goes right along the ocean there and one of the mainstays over many years now is the Royal Kona. This resort is right on the ocean so it has sweeping ocean views. We stayed here on our first trip to The Big Island over a decade ago.

Enjoy and have an Awesome Aloha Friday and a Great Weekend!!!🤙🏻🌴🌺😎
