Cancelling timeshare contract

My husband & I fell prey to the nice fast talking sales people at a timeshare resort in Punta Cana Dominican Republic. We signed on 8/12. I found out on 8/17 I had 5 days to rescind the contract. I called the company, immedately, & they said I couldn't cancel. I'm sending them an email today & will follow-up with a certified letter on Mon. that I am cancelling the contract.

The timeshare contract is online, but the company website won't let me set up a my account to see the contract.

I found a template on this Tugg that I'm using to send to the company. I was lucky to stumble upon this forum! Thanks for your knowledge! Wish I had done more research!

Anyone have advice or suggestions?

Well, you found TUG, that is a plus in your favor! This is the Mexico Forum and you probably will get better information from the Caribbean Forum.

That said, it sounds like you did the right thing. Let's hope that works. Some companies accept email and others want registered mail. You might call your credit card company and let them know that you have cancelled this contract.

Good luck.
