Buying more points resale.

Ok, so I've owned with Welk Resorts for 3 years now and overall, after a rough start and learning how to best utilize my points and bonus weeks etc, we have been making positive ground on our investment.
My questions that I can't find a direct answer to on here are these:
1-If I buy more points resale (off ebay, redweek etc) and they accrue annually, adding to my current amount of points, will trading with II or RCI be any different?
2- Has anyone bought Welk resale and had issues?

Because I'm new to TUG, I want to say thank you to everyone for all your helpful information and if anyone has questions about Welk, you can ask me as I have gained quite a bit of knowledge on how they work from buying from them, to guest certs, to using II bonus weeks and trading, to short week stays etc.

I've also read the thread about the guy buying 1.5m points from Welk for 127k or whatever. That's an unGodly amount of points and you could spend literally spend 12.5 red weeks in a large one bedroom with that amount of points..... if anyone was curious lol!

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TUG.

Glad you are learning how to use your resort ownership.
Since TUG does not (yet) have a Welk specific forum , you may need to do some searches to find
prior posts that have Welk information .

The recent thread you mention does have a lot of good information added by Welk owners . If you have very specific questions you may need to “conversation”them -start by clicking on their blue user name .

I would suggest you edit your post title to include the - WELK name . This may help to expand the number of responses .

I hope that helps .

I appreciate the response. I dug around some more and it seems a lot of the steady/heavy posters on here have bought strictly resale and not had any problems. If it comes up that we feel the need for more points, I'll prolly go that route.

FYI. I don’t own Welk but prior posts have indicated that you cannot combine developer and resale points in the same account.

That’s pretty annoying to me.

Huh. Well I guess that's a question I'll have to try and get an answer to as welll

per prior tug posts, not only will resale not combine with retail points but each resale point purchase will not combine into a single account and will each have their own account with all fees for each account based on each individual contract.

So I called Welk just a bit ago, and per the customer service rep I spoke with, and his manager, Welk Owners CAN combine resale with retail points but it has to be done in person at an Owner update...... So the odds of that are unlikely indeed.
