Since all of us in the USA are celebrating a birthday, I thought PARTY was a good starter. Got an A and R out of position, and the T in correct position. I promptly went braindead and moved the T with TRASH. At leastt, I got the R and A correct, leaving me with xRATx. Now, so may options. I tried consonants first with CRATE and GRATE before realizing that words can also begin with vowels. ORATE would have been a good wordle for the day to celebrate the great orators in our nation’s history. But, no, it wasn’t, which left me IRATE!

Four. Could have gotten in 2. I thought of the correct word and thought I had already eliminated the letter as I had forgotten that I did not use a 2nd starter/throwaway word. I am now MAD!

Four, due to a brain fart with my second guess.

I opened with STORK this morning and found an O out of position. I wanted to try 3 or 4 vowels with my next guess but my fingers got ahead of my brain and didn’t move the O. AVOID did find a V. I had actually thought of COVEN for my second try and went with it here. Now, I had four letters and just needed to get them in correct alignment. VENOM did so.

I had SCANT idea where to start today and it resulted in a lonely, lost N. BINGO! Nah, wrong game. Wouldn’t PINKY be a great wordle? Too bad it wasn’t. It was WINDY, although it isn’t. At least, not here.

Three. The fact that I had no vowels (having tried four of them) after my second line and only two letters found on the second line (struck out with my initial word) helped a lot. There were a few other words available, but they tended to be obscure ones.
