Are there casinos close by? I am not a gambler, however, would definitely be tempted at this point to find one. Maybe put all your money on 2 at the roulette table. I googled to check, that would a black 2 for you!
You could let us know if CRIME pays?
I'm not sure if there are any casinos near here. I don't know of any but I haven't checked. I do play the lottery some. Maybe I could find a game there that would work.

Too many choices resulted in a 5 early this morning.

Back to a four today.
DRAPE found the ending E and an A. In my HASTE to solve the puzzle, I didn’t add any letters but did get the A positioned correctly. I thought my EAGLE eye had spotted something but it was just a mirage. I thought just MAYBE…

Joining the table for four. Fairly straight foward with a good guess on line three that turned out to be wrong but set up the last line.

A ho-hum three.
ADORN was one of the words in the NYT Mini crossword today and I liked it as a starter. Got an A and R, both out of position. There were so many possibilities at this point, I debated setting aside the known letters and just going for five more in an elimination word. But, I thought of SUGAR and thought, how sweet. Sorry. Anyway, it was a good choice finding the starting S and getting the A in correct position, and leaving only position 3 for the R, SxRAx. STRAY, STRAP or SPRAY? I actually chose correctly, STRAP.

Three, which is the number of letters that today's word could have ended with. I got it on my second try, but, to be truthful, the fact that is was down to one letter after my second word was luck.

THREE for me today.
Went with what came to mind first - STRAW - although considered that and STRAP. Thankfully hadn't thought of STRAY in the process. I'll take the three, an improvement over the rest of my week.
