Formerly: Marriott, ILX, Westin, Diamond, Worldmark. Timeshare free as of 12/24.
I am definitely ready for a sweet hot beverage. Got through by the skin of my teeth. Cliff is all the way through five with only two letters, one in the right spot, so unless he lets me give him a clue, he’s toast.

I blew it. Just couldn't connect the dots. D'oh!

No Spoiler today. It was a disaster. Three letters after five guesses, and I couldn't figure the other two, not realizing two of the three letters were repeated. Idjit!!

I think the Wordle gods have gotten us all at one time or another, Dave. Hang in there!

Three

After guess 2 the options I came up with were ETHIC and BEFIT. I decided to try ETHIC, and hit it.

But now that I'm posting I realized that HELIX would also fit. So what I thought was an even chance was actually 1-in-3, and maybe less than that if there are other words I overlooked.

Wow! I’m very impressed with your threes. I got a four and it took a while.
It’s a very pretty morning with the birds singing and the distant hum of traffic. It made me think of PEACE. I don’t like using double letters on my starter but I gave it a shot. It found the first E out of position but no second E, plus a C also out of position. I swung the pendulum from PEACE to CRUEL Two more places the E and C can’t go. SCENT found two more spots the C and E wouldn’t fit plus a T that also needed a home. At this point, it took me several minutes, and several more sips of coffee, before I finally found the the right pattern and spelled ETHIC.

A TWO for me today. May the Wordle gods were feeling sorry for me?
And I have to credit my starter word. I couldn't think of much to go with that T (well quite honestly, anything else).

Four. A senior moment on line 3 where I put a letter in a known wrong position, but to be honest, I don't know if I would have come up with the correct solution at that point anyway.

I,'m impressed with the 2 & 3's today!
I'm a 3 as well, but I had to r/o so many words to get there.

I was looking at different positions of the E & I vowels, my only known letters. I came up with YIELD, WEIGH, TEPID, FETID, REMIX, INNER, INEPT, PIETY, NIECE. Fortunately other letters or incorrect positions r/o them out at various guesses. I came up with ETHIC on 2nd guess along with YIELD and WEIGH. Luckily I saw WEIGH would be wrong cause of the I, so I went with YIELD first.

Usually I hear of the word in the plural , ethics, rather than the singular.

Three again -

After guess 2, I figured that the word was likely xROOx or xROxY. I could think of more xROOx words than xROXY words, so I decided to start with that pattern. That left me with a bunch of words, such as BROOM, GROOM, TROOP, CROON. Since there were two xROOM words I started there, and arbitrarily selected BROOM.
