I guess I should be proud to be in the quartet but I’m also a little disappointed after getting the hardest letter with my starter word. It definitely beats yesterday’s six!
I love to WATCH the birds on the lake and the airplanes in the blue skies most mornings. I’m also very time conscious and my wife has an eye appointment this morning in Jacksonville so the word WATCH was in the forefront of my thoughts. I felt good about finding the W. I then tried SWIPE and added an E with both letters out of position. I had a slight brain fart with my next word, leaving out the E, but I did want to see if the gods were messing with me by putting the W in fourth position instead of last. They were not. So, I have E, O and W. BELOW came to me immediately.

Another person checking in with a four. After a slow start, my third word made it fairly easy. Anyone for a game of bridge? We appear to have a foursome.

Lucky 3 today! I thought I'd take at least 4.
Makes up for the times when I thought I'd take a 3, but got 4 or 5 instead.

The answer BELOW was the first real word I could come up with based on available letters. Rather than go thru all the remaining letters permutations, I lazily went with it :D

Quiff — from Wikipedia

The quiff is a hairstyle that combines the 1950s pompadour hairstyle, the 1950s flattop, and sometimes a mohawk. It was born as a post-war reaction to the short and strict haircuts for men. The hairstyle was a staple in the British 'Teddy Boy' movement, but became popular again in Europe in the early 1980s and experienced a resurgence in popularity during the 1990s.[1]
I just saw an Instagram post with a kid with that hairstyle, so I used quiff in my reply!

Three today. Two more to needed complete the scene. Anyone care to dance with me?

FLING checked for AFTER, ALTER, ANGER, and if it struck out completely AMBER would be the only remaining option in my solution set.

Four.
My daughter UPSET my plans to do nothing this morning, getting my day off to a rough start. I get the E in fourth position. I decide to go with an ER ending and try MOWER. I was right about the R. I debate LIVER and LINER and choose the latter. That leaves me with an N that must go in position 1 or 2 and there has to be an A or U in the other. ANGER is the first and only word I think of.

Yup, my avg 4 today.

I went with an AIO vowel starter instead of an AEI. After previous answers with unusual consonants, I was in the habit of looking for those more than all the more common RSTLN.
So WORDLE Gods got me a little bit.
Can't argue with that. But no anger or frustration.

A spooky four today

Though Bobby Pickett was pretty much a one-trick pony, he was a showman (as is apparent in the video) and astute enough to mock 1960s dance craze culture. While creating a classic tune in the process.

After guess 2 I was down to BUXOM, JUMBO, GHOUL, and GUMBO. After GUMBO, GHOUL was the last living option.
