Anyone playing wordle?

Way to go, @Patri! I got a four.
It is an absolutely beautiful morning here in St,. Augustine. I had to lookup a synonym for beautiful and settled on IDEAL. Got an L out of position. I wanted to try the L in position two and a couple more common consonants so I went with CLOUT. Got the U out of position. At this point, BULLY and GULLY were topping my thoughts. I tried BULLY and got the U, L and Y in correct positions, leaving me with xULxY. As I scanned the keyboard, SULKY showed itself.

Another 50/50 chance where I guessed wrong again. I actually thought of the answer 1st , but I was not in the right mood at the time ;)

I'm with the fours today. Nothing at the first guess, but after guess 2 it was down to three possibilities.

After guess 2 the only words I could see were SUNNY, SULKY, and SULLY.

Struck out today. Down to two possible words for my final try and I chose the wrong first letter between the two.

Four. I had all five letters at three, but had to scramble them till they made sense. :D

@tombanjo: Word could be a noun OR a verb. Made it doubly difficult. :thumbup:

Well, here I am at the end of the day realizing I never hit “save” this morning, and apparently the spoiler wore off because the answer is visible. At this late hour I’ll just let it be.

Three today. The Wordle gods felt bad about my striking out yesterday.

@Patri What awful luck, needing just two letters with five tries (counting line 2 as well as the ones that follow) and yet none of them were right. Hopefully the Wordle gods will reward you with a two or a three tomorrow.

Sorry, TR, I’m singing in the quartet again.
I decided to go all out for consonants today with PSYCH. Just a lonely H. Of course, being an introvert, I realize that loneliness is actually a HAVEN. Now, the H is home and I have an E. I’m sure the E needs to be paired with the O, I or U. HELIO kills two birds with one word and I add the O to the mix. I deduce the O must be the second letter and E the last, leaving me with HOxxE. HORDE is the only word I see.

I couldn’t figure out why answer four wasn’t correct if none of the remaining letters worked. I resorted to going through the alphabet, adding a letter and having one after the other bounce. When the D gave me an answer I was surprised and thought “what does that word mean?” I even googled it and still starred stupidly at the answer. Suddenly the fog cleared “OMG, I know that word, what the heck is wrong with me?!”I guess I watch too much Hoarders!

3 for me!!

My other option was FORGE, but it didn't feel
right, so I kept trying other letters before the E. I think I only came up with HORDE because it was in a recent crossword puzzle,
my other game playing hobby :D
