I’m very impressed with the two’s but still feel good about my three.

I was searching for a new starter word this morning and wanted to include Y. I ran across RASPY and gave it a shot. R and A out of position. So, I moved them to the right one space and tried GRAIN. Still not in the right place but the I is. So, I’m either looking at AxRIx or xxRIA. I can’t think of any words with the latter and only ACRID with the former. Fortunately, it was correct.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I started with BIRTH. An R whose correct position would continue to elude me. ROUND. Nope. PAPER. Nope. ALARM? Finally! The AR is correct and I don‘t have that many letters left, so it has to be SCARY. What? Not many words end with F. Unfortunately, SCARF does. Fortunately, I had one last try.

After seeing @Patri and your answer, I was (pleasantly) surprised I didn't go for SCARY first

THREE! I have been debating whether to go with simply one starter word or more, as in the past. There are pros and cons. I can bomb out if I don't eliminate enough of the letters with fewer starter words. However, it paid off today. I just bought a sewing machine and this birthday gift this week, so they must have been on my mind.
