After MOUND, the remaining options included, POUND, FOUND, HOUND, SOUND and WOUND. So I needed an elimination word, and, pshaw, too easy of an elimination word for guess 4 popped into my mind.

I somehow got a three.
I’m looking out the sunroom window and seeing a lot of GREEN. Found a N out of position. I moved the N and tried a couple vowels with FAINT. That got the N in correct fourth position. I had 2 vowels remaining to try, O and U. The first word that popped into my head was HOUND. Fortunately, I just went with it. I didn’t realize how many more options there were until I read TR’s post. o_O Whew!

4 for me cause I did an elimination word like TR .

My 2nd guess was a surprise to see so much green! Because there were so many rhymes, I went out of my norm to do a word to hunt for that last letter. It still left W, F, and H, the same letters as yesterday's answer. I irrationally thought to guess the H, since the more unusual W & F were used yesterday. Got lucky...

Too many choices gave me a 6 today.

Bombed. My path led to too many rhyming choices. The winning word was in my head but I went with another. There was even one more possibility.
Yeah, that does get frustrating at times when you have four greens and then the last letter that you need could feasibly be any of five or six letters. I bombed once that way too.

That's when elimination (burner) words come into play.

I’ll join the quartet!
I’m thinking about going down to the marina today and getting lunch at a food TRUCK. It must be a good idea, finding the starting T and middle U. I thought of two words immediately, TAUNT and TOUGH. I thoght TAUNT was a perfect Wordle for the gods to use so I went with it first and, of course, struck out. TOUGH added an H which left me with THUxx. THUMP! The gods made me a chump, again!
