I awoke to an AC problem this morning with temps going into the high 80’s. I was able to get someone out quickly this morning and it was a relatively cheap $150 repair. I consider myself LUCKY and that’s how I started Wordle, finding the ending Y. Next, I went with PIETY and found the I and T in correct position. Now, I ran into the same problem as
@T_R_Oglodyte too many word possibilities. I thought of WITTY, SIXTY, DITTY, DIRTY, FIFTY, BITTY, NIFTY and MISTY. I decided to use BIRDS (B,D and S) as an elimination word. That eliminated all but WITTY, FIFTY and NIFTY from my list. I then used NIFTY. It would either be correct, or it would eliminate the N in NIFTY or the first T in WITTY. It wasn’t correct but confirmed the F in the middle position, eliminating the first T in WITTY so FIFTY it was.
