But, since CS says that I can call in and pay, I will either do that in Q2 and Q3 or use the Nowaker method... That worked last year.

more changes...they are closing the gift card/credit loophole for those who would buy the gift card with the Surpass to get the $50 Hilton credit....like I did last year and then used that card to pay MFs.

This is unfortunate. I spend a bunch on Hilton hotels each year through work so I never had an issue washing them - applying them to hotels and then expensing it. It’s better than having to carry 4 Amex cards around and rotate each quarter.

I got an credit on my statement on Dec 25. Merry Christmas to me. But I don't know what it was for. Did anyone else get one.

It lists it as below, which I assume means credit for Benefit "Error"

I just got one on my Amex Platinum. But mine was only $7.15. They seem to have made a smaller error for me :)

Cheers.

I just used my Aspire $200 Dec and $200 Jan, Surpass $50 Dec and $50 Jan, and Business $60 Dec//Jan and got all the credits. I didn’t try gift cards.

What do you plan to do for the Q2 and Q3?

I plan to use P2 Aspire in Q1 and 2. The others are quarterly. Then try it again later this year in Q4/Q1 2026 to pay maintenance fees.

We have several Hilton stays this year. March we have 7 nights booked for Dominican La Romana and June DC. We usually alternate Hilton Holtels one year and HGVC the following year and borrow on that year. We burned all our 2024/2025 points up in Hawaii last year.

Hmmm, used my aspire to pay my maintenance fees ( Elara and W57th), and I still have not received my $200 semiannual credit.

W57th won't get you the Aspire resort credit because it's not a resort (it does trigger the Surpass Hilton credit). But Elara should work.

My Elara coded as HILTON LV52 COND HOAORLANDO FL on the statement, is that what normally gets the credit?

Yes Elara is on the resort “New” list so should work.
Do we know if the Elara bHC property works? I know that the Elara HGVC does, but hadn't heard about the bHC property.

Cheers.

Got an agent to get it credited in chat….hopefully it shows up.

Went thru the same thing on Saturday. One chat agent creditted my wifes card quite easily, while another said my charges for the exact same resorts as her were ineligible. I have a charge that posted from a resort stay last week, which should credit for a good part of the $200. This has become a regular experience for me.

Well it looks like I won the largest credit pool. I was thinking back on what this might be. There was some weird stuff happening around my CLEAR credit last year. Because I applied for CLEAR and got it and paid for the year, then within 2 months my status changed to 1K and I got a prorated CLEAR annual membership refunded, so they took the credit back. Perhaps they forgot about that and gave me the credit back again.

I paid part of my Elara fee in late November, and the credit was posted automatically. I paid the second half in early January, and so far, it has not been posted automatically. I assume it will, but I will chat with customer service if needed. We have a stay coming up at a hotel on the list next month, so we will get the credit one way or another.

I am not elite with HGV, but I have triggered the $50 quarterly credit by using the Surpass card to pay transaction fees like the reservation fee. I have a few Hilton hotels near my work, so I figure my fallback option would be getting some food and drinks from the hotel bar... That is a bit of a force, as I probably would not otherwise stop for drinks there, but not a total loss.

I got one of these too. I forget how much but CS couldn’t really explain it. I’m guessing there were some errors done on the backend and Amex went ahead and processed whatever they thought they should to CYA. I saw some people posting on Reddit similar things for their platinum cards too. So something was corrected 🤷‍♀️

It's odd as I track all credit card spend against receipts in Quicken and would notice this. I mean, I'll take the 7 bucks, but I really can't see where it came from.

Cheers.

Same. I couldn’t for the life of me track it to something. That’s why I think was just a cover situation that they weren’t sure who and who didn’t get the right credit so just did it for all. That’s my guess.

I didn't get an unknown credit, so they didn't do it for all.
