Amex Hilton Changes

Anyone else see this email this morning from Amex (Aspire card holder) about a $60 credit for a $200 Hilton purchase?

Bummer. Not on any of our cards. We have 2 Conrad Waldorfs but no trips planned until 2025.

I got one a couple weeks ago that was get $80 for $400 spend.

How long it is taking for Hilton's Semi Annual $200 credit to post to the Aspire Card? I am going on 12 days since my transaction posted, and no credit yet.

I got the $200 resort credit for this half of the year from a Hilton stay, 3 days after the charge/checking out.

I have found some variability with the various Amex credits, sometimes they post right away, and other times it seems to take a week or two.

I checked and my $50 quarterly credit with the Surpass card, it took 6 days.

I think it took about 5 days when I paid MFs to get the credit. About 3 days for the Surpass $50 quarterly credit

I have two Aspires and the 1st half charges that posted on 1/1 were credited on 1/10 on both cards. Neither of the second half charges that posted on 7/1 had credited by 7/17, so I engaged in an online chat with two different reps.

On Card #1, I was told on 7/17 that the charge was eligible for the credit, but I needed to wait 8-12 weeks for the credit. I believe that is still the actually terms of the card, so there is nothing really to fight there.

On Card #2, I was told on 7/17 that the charge was eligible and they would submit a case, which I could check back in on after 7 days. I waited until 8/5 and chatted again. That rep said they had initiated a request to manually issue the credit and I should see it within 5 business days. It posted on 8/6.

I just hate the inconsistency and the need to track these credits and follow up on them. I'll wait until late next month and chat with them again if the credit doesn't post by then.

I agree. I am also tracking one that didn't post but was suppose. The charge was on 7/2/24.

Too bad the Aspire semi-annual credit takes so long to post.

The $50 Surpass credits post to my account almost as quickly as the hotel charge (so far it's only been used on actual cash hotel stays).

DP: Aspire Resort credits for Hilton hotels (non MF) were received 2 days after and United Wallets 5 days after on both cards.

Will test the Surpass $50 quarterly credit this weekend if we have charges on a Hilton stay.

I did notice my most recent Aspire statement they now provide a link to a webpage showing exactly which hotels should trigger the resort credit, effective Aug 1st, 2024.

That should remove some of the confusion from the older link that just covered "Hilton Resorts" and be easier to lookup.

I did use my surpass card to pay for a HGV reservation fee, and that did trigger the credit within a few days.

Would he interesting to verify their list

Yes, though for me. I own at two resorts on the list, so it easy to split my MF payments between the two if needed to get the credit,

Since the list now explicitly lists these as credit eligible, i think you would have strong case for manual intervention if it does not trigger. If other resorts do trigger then great, but probably harder to complain if its not on the list and does not trigger the credit.

Our Blvd triggers so we use it for there... Both Aspire and Surpass

Interesting that none of the bHC locations seem to be on the list.

We own Elara bHC but can use the Aspire credits at the lobby bar and pool bar/restaurant since those charges ring through as Elara HGV charges.
Starbucks in the lobby works too. But not the convenience store.

Just an FYI. I paid my SA from Bay Club and even thought Bay Club is not on the resort list they just put out, it is still coded correctly and I received my Aspire Credit for back 1/2 half of year on those payments. I still have about $50 left of my $200 but I have MF due in Dec.

Good to know. My plan is to pay 1 MF in Dec and the next 1 in January, and that would recover that credit in a hurry.

Good to know that the list isn't only those. Actually doesn't surprise me.

Just as important they also all were recognized at Hilton and posted at 14X for HH points.
