Just checked my Marriott account and the new week has been added to My account. Entire process was 90 days.

It is strange that my experience with VP Title and Hope is totally opposite to what others have experienced, but I am not complaining. Almost makes me wonder if they have multiple employees and they all go by the name of Hope so you never really know who you are dealing with on a particular closing. Probable not the case, but she was very responsive to my inquires while others who posted here seem to be ignored.

Best of luck to those still waiting to get their transactions finalized, I am proof there is always hope (pun intended).

Gary

Usually only the bad experiences are reported. People who have never heard of TUG will find TUG because of their current timeshare transfer worries. Of all the ebay companies they probably have the worst reputation but they have been in business for years and have processed thousands of timeshares.

Any other update from people who dealt with this red weeks company?
I bought an expensive high value system unit in late September which require rofr and they are still dragging the closing, only give out excuses and heard the same story of having to submit rofr twice. They argue been waiting the rofr waiver but it's been almost 60 days since submission when I know this system doesn't take more than 30 days.

I'm having trouble with 2 Disney contracts. It's a lot of money and I'm considering hiring a local attorney or flying up there myself.

Mine were eBay purchases from early October. I get the same runaround and no contact.

Good luck to you all

Good luck with VIP Title, especially Hope. She is just a PITA and about as worthless as a t*t on a boar.

I thought everything was final on my Marriott Newport purchase, but found out the 2014 week had already been used by the previous owner. I contacted Hope and sent her the documentation from Marriott the the 2014 week is not available for my use. So, they are paying the 2014 fees and my use will begin in 2015. I have confirmed with Marriott customer service that I will not be responsible for 2014 fees.

Not a big deal since it is a gold week and would probably have been too late to book a good 2014 week.

My experience was rough but I don't think that these guys are dishonest. Those of you that complained earlier, have your deals gone through as yet?

Is there anyone that has given money & not received anything?

I had a DVC contract with them "won" on Ebay in February of 2013. 320 points at VWL for ~$10,000. Fast forward to July 5th 2013 and a lot of BS and I was told I would get a full refund. Finally got my refund in October, only after I filed a formal complaint of IA Vacations on the BBB site. I was surprised they responded so quickly as they already have an F rating. I recommend you file an official complaint on that site.

Disney vacation club. They said without any kind of way to verify as the refuse to send me copy of the paperwork- that they are waiting for the rofr waiver.
DVC doesn't talk more than 30 days to process and it's been more than three months since my purchase and more than two months since the latest submission as they had to redo it due to a mistake. That's what they say...
If that it's true which I doubt it, it only take a call from them to find out the status with DVC. They won't give any info to me to
follow up with DVC. I won't ever will bid in any other auction from them.

Customer service is not their thing and it seems like deals only get done after you've given up :) but because I'm a glass half full kind of guy I would encourage you by saying that although we've all complained and even suspected that we'd been had, eventually the deal gets done so I'm confident that you will get sorted out.

Again I ask, is there any of us who has given money to these guys and gotten nothing?

I've gotten some fantastic deals (both rental and resale) for little money

I only had one snafu with them on a purchase. The maintenance fee was supposed to have been paid. A day before check-in, I ended up having to pay the maintenance fee in order to use the week. I requested a refund for the maintenance fee from RedWeek. I was told that they would look into it. Weeks went by and I was coming up on the 90 days to dispute the original purchase with my credit card company. I filed a dispute. They did not fight it.

I have heard that they have blocked others from bidding on their auctions when disputes or complaints are filed. I was concerned about that. I bid on an auction shortly after that and won! Last month they listed one that I wanted. I contacted them to see if they would accept an offer and pull the auction. They said, yes. I made an offer. They accepted. I had the recorded deed within 3 weeks and the transfer completed 2 weeks after that. I have a buyer for that week and it's in closing with the buyer's funds received.

I like the fact that they accept credit card payments. It helps to keep things moving in the right direction. :D

credit card & avoid

Just avoid these guys, to many problems. Plenty of other sellers, selling the same properties with nearly the same deals. I've been tempted to buy something else from them because of the low cost, but its not worth the 6-12 months of not knowing if you are even going to ultimately get the week and even if you do, not getting what you paid for.

The best idea is using a credit card, but in all cases a dispute of the low ebay bid, outweigh what you may not get in the end. Such as, use week not available, points, banked week or worse.

My results are all negative, didn't get what I was suppose to in either of my 2 purchases. One took 6 months, the other 12 months to complete.

Bad news!

I bought an expensive Marriott week in August. After 3 months and a thousand excuses of why it has not closed yet, I called Marriott. They said VP has not sent in the ROFR yet and to make it worse, the unit they sold me does not even exist! When i informed them that they were busted, Hope said she would return my money. It has been 2 months since she promised me that. I e-mail her 2-3 times a week and it is always another excuse!

DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!:wall:

From the first post on this thread (see post #1): I spoke with Jane P. Salem, Consumer Protection Specialist with the State of Tennessee, and she told me the complaints are public record. I have not looked yetr, but was told that fourteen complaints have been filed and some victims do claim to have lost money. I got my money back and a lot of aggravation.

You can contact the Tennessee Consumer Affairs Division at 1-800-342-8385. If you had a similar failure to perfom issue with these companies, I hope you will post here and call in your complaint.

As I posted above. They have had my money for 5 months. Sold me a week that does not exist and I have only received excuses, no refunds.

That should answer your question.

After reading jis thread i am feeling fortunate. In light of the many negative comments I wanted to share a recent, positive transaction with this seller. I just completed the purchase of a Marriott week that went off without a hitch. Contracts were signed during the third week of November and I received notification from VP Title yesterday that the transaction had been successfully completed. Shortly after notification by VP Title I received notification from Marriott Vacation Club that the week had transferred into my name and was now in my account. When I contacted VP Title (twice) during the closing process I received a response with 12 hours - once to tell my ROFR had been waived, and once to notify me that the deed had been recorded and paperwork submitted to Marriott. First usage for this unit was 2014 and included a prime summer week reservation that had been booked by the previous owner. After reading some comments above, one of my concerns was making sure the usage (and week) remained with the transfer. This was no issue as the notification from Marriott restated first usage beginning in 2014 with a week already reserved (and confirmation # attached).

I realize this is only one persons experience but this transaction went extremely well and everyone I dealt with was very professional and courteous. I feel I got an outstanding price on my purchase (particularly with the valuable 2014 reservation included) and while I admittedly was following each step extremely closely as a result of others experiences I had no issues.

I'm still waiting and only received excuses and more excuses. They have not provide any kind of proof of this contract or DVC rofr. As all you know DVC it's not cheap, we are talking about thousands of dollars.

Can you cancel the purchase? If they've been sitting on it too long, MFs have come due. DVC won't transfer until the MFs are paid for 2014 and possibly 2015.

When I sold my contracts (through a broker who specializes in DVC), even though my MFs were paid, the buyers were required to prepay the following years MFs before DVC would transfer the membership.

I could cancel but that doesn't mean I will get a refund right away like other posters have said. I paid using PayPal-bill me later and I am thinking to make a dispute with them.
You are right. Due to this company inaction this could mean more aggravations with late fees and mf. I doubt this has even presented to DVC for rofr because if they did it would have been processed by now. It's been 4 months since my purchase.

IA Vacations/Redweek4Less

I did not know about TUG when I purchased on Ebay Worldmark credits from IA Vacations/Redweek4Less. This purchase was made August 3, 2013. I was told at the time the completion of the sale would take three to four months, thus I did not begin to get too anxious during this period of time. Now it is February 9, 2014 and we still do not have a completed sale. My repeated attempts to get resolution--either ownership or refund, have resulted only in frustration. Hope at VP Title seems to come up with one excuse after another, none of which make much sense. Ebay claims the purchase is too old and they won't get involved. Clearly there appears to be enough evidence that Ebay should refuse to do business with them until they clean up their act. Paypal claims they will do what is necessary to make it right, and we will see. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I have not gone to the government yet as asserting fraud seems to me extreme and I feel I need more proof of intent to exploit. They have demonstrated incompetence over the course of these months, but I am not sure I have enough to allege fraud. Meanwhile, I would not do business with this entity again and I will be reluctant to use Ebay again for such a purchase, since they are apparently casting a blind eye to gross incompetence/negligence or even aiding sellers who are preying on Ebay users. If you used a credit card for the purchase, you should go that route first.

I have had to dispute eBay timeshare purchases in the past which were paid through PAYPAL with my credit card. PAYPAL always deferred to the decision of the credit card company. One of the disputes was IA Vacations/RedWeek. I got tired of excuses awaiting a refund for maintenance fees that I had to pay in order to use the timeshare week. The listing indicated the dues had been paid. I disputed the initial purchase because I had documentation for the listing, the payment that I had to make and dialogue between me and Hope at VP Title, as well as personnel at the resort. My credit card company was able to get things resolved to my satisfaction.

I wish I knew what makes these guys so bad because they do sometimes have some good Marriott auctions and as Cory mentions they do complete some deals. I don't think they're blatantly fraudulent but often times so incompetent it borders on criminal negligence.

I'm trying to figure out why. Are some of the timeshares foreclosures that are tougher to process? I just don't get how they can be so bad with so many.

One thing I can think of for a reason is they may not have the deeds in hand when they put a unit up for auction. Maybe they just have a POA and the owner sold to someone else or changed their mind.

I had a deed in a couple days when I used vaca4life2 on eBay. They obviously had the deed on hand and we did everything electronically.

I've seen units that I'd like that are offered up by the subject of this thread and I will not even look at the details so I don't get tempted to bid.

If you don't get a deed in 30 days you should leave the negative feedback on eBay. No excuse for an outfit like this to take longer to get you the deed. Resort transfer is a different story and for whatever reason places like Wyndham take a long time to transfer.

We rented from them and got an awesome deal

They also rent out weeks. We got a two bed oceanfront in Pompano Beach and had a great vacation. Easy, smooth rental transaction.
