After 1,250 posts it is still funny how triggered some people are at the existence of an EV. So much that they don't even like the vehicle because it looks like an EV.

It's nothing to do with being triggered. You have to admit that most ev's have that ugly or different in an odd way look. Rivian could be a decent SUV or truck but with the oval head lights, no thanks. Tesla with no grill and the no real style, no thanks. Mercedes eq with the egg shape and ugly wheels, yuk. Toyota bz4x is just a bad look. Either they look stupid or they are tiny for the most part. Sometimes they are both tiny and ugly.

The engineers went for efficiency instead of the wow factor. Some ev's look fine but they are unproven regarding reliability which is another issue.

Northvolt failed because it couldn’t produce the batteries it promised
Not from lack of demand
Some how they frittered away 10 Billion dollars
And everyone will be amazed when China steps in to fill void

German insurance data shows a lot of people who have owned EV's are going back to gas and diesel powered cars. I previously posted a link to that article. The unfortunate thing in Europe is that the EU is forcing "demand" from above through mandates. Sadly, these mandates are going to destroy the European auto industry and, yes, it is China that will profit.

How about doing a google search for cars sold in Europe for 2024
Percentage of Ev’s sold
Northvolt is going to be a mess of misuse of funds and failed promises
Not lack of demand for batteries

An era when steel was cheap
Design was all about big and powerful
A truly bitchin design
Or an era when Photoshop was even cheaper. ;) It never existed for real.

This is real:

There were two episodes of Bitchin' Rides on the restoration of this beast.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

There’s no grill because there’s no engine or radiator therefore no need for it. Good engineers don’t add unnecessary parts to a vehicle design for no good reason. The best part is no part, as Elon has always said. That also decreases cost.

Personally I think the best looking BEVs are from Lucid - both the Air and Gravity - but they are very expensive for what you get - outside of our price range at least.

What people don’t recognize is that we are witnessing a sea change in the transportation sector. We are in the early part of this sea change, but once market adoption reaches 10% - which BEVs will hit next year, the time it takes to go from 10% to 80-90% is typically less than ten years’ time. If you study market disruption this is the norm. Could take longer could take less, only time will tell. SDVs will become the norm over time.

But it does not even come close to this:

We do agree on this, lol. Currently, most ev's have a short self life , imo. The Tesla model 3 is probably the most reliable EV but it's still a bit small and definitely not the best looking car ever made.

What do you think of the new California EV credit that excludes Tesla ? This is Tesla's biggest market and I doubt that it hurts them too much.

Sorry - I think that’s an ugly car - but again - that’s me - admittedly I don’t have a fascination with older vehicle designs like many do.

I love design of both the Model 3 and the Jaguar E-Type, but using Jaguar as an example doesn't reinforce the anti-EV point that combustion vehicles are here to stay...
