I have crafted a letter that I'm sending to the Wyndham CEO tomorrow via email concerning this commercial use, i.e., renting points, strong-arm tactic that they are playing. If anyone would like to send a similar letter, pls feel free to email me at rfen6370@gmail.com and I'll put a cy of my letter in your hands so that you can modify and send on as you see fit. Hoping that there will be power in numbers.

I heard it in the elevator at Grand Desert 2 weeks ago. "Rent a week for $1600. Your maintenance fees would be $1200. You can absolutely rent and put that $400 cash in your pocket!".

Did you get a target letter? If not I’m not sure I’d want to put a target on my back like this…

Which isn't a lie, as one rental wouldn't raise a red flag. But what do you expect to rent for $1,600? Maybe a 2 bedroom deluxe, maybe?

That’s adorable. Really.
I’ve sent postal letters to Wyndham a few times over the last decade about outstanding issues that I didn’t see them taking any steps to resolve - most recently, regarding the incorrect credit reporting of loans as belonging to resale buyers who never had a loan. For me, it was a way of releasing my annoyance with Wyndham on an issue where they were clearly in the wrong and knowing that I’d done what I can, with no expectation of a response.

So I don’t know which part is adorable - sending the letter or expecting Wyndham to actually respond - but I can say that for me, sending the letter with no expectation of a response let me feel like I’d completed my due diligence in attempting to address an issue and then move on.

The latter. “Please fix this obvious error” is very different from “please change this explicit strategy that that you have consciously adopted.”

If they want cathartic, it would be just as good to write the letter and burn it.

You just reminded me to check my credit report again. I just had a Grand Desert contract transfer last month.

Hmm. Nothing on Equifax or Transunion. Maybe they finally fixed this issue?

Or your original owner didn’t have a loan?
Actually, I think he did, because my paymentus account did that thing where it showed a loan (with the interest rate) at $0 for the first few days before it fell off.

Let’s hope they actually fixed it then!
