What have other BlueGreen owners noticed since Hilton bought BlueGreen?

Hilton/Diamond/Embarc owners also have to buy into MAX in order to access BG resorts.
No one is getting a free ride.

Agree with @MrockStar - continue to use your BG ownership as you always have.
If you are a Diamond member with MAX, will you be grandfathered as a BG or have to buy again to get MAX?

Basically I will be able to exchange bluegreen points for hilton properties 6 months out.
You will, unfortunately, be getting the leftovers at the 6-month mark. Which resorts are you interested in?

For example last fall I wanted to stay on the strip in Vegas. Bluegreen only has club 36 which is 6 blocks away so I was looking at Elora... I believe that was the name of it,lol

so I was looking at Elora...
HGVC Elara. Well, LV has an overabundance of TS, with HGVC having 5 resorts there. There is usually availability on shorter notice.

Using BG points thru RCI I exchanged into Elara in April. All it costs is the $299 exchange fee.

Basically I will be able to exchange bluegreen points for hilton properties 6 months out. They are adding more benefits for owners that buy in I just do not have details yet. There have been several times I wanted to stay at a hilton property but chose not to because of the exchange fee with rci.
So you purchased an additional 6,000 BG points ( as stated in post #20) at $3.00-4.00 per point rather than pay the RCI $299;exchange fee?

In January, BG was offering the buy in at 4,000 points for approx $12,000.

A lot of money to pay for something you can get thru your already included RCI account.

I hope all the future benefits are worth it for you.
A big plus is dumping Choice hotels for Hilton, hopefully as a MAX member you will get status with the hotel group.

It will be interesting (to me) to see how many BG points you will need to get a 2BR HGVC Hawaii unit on Big Island or Oahu at 6 months out. Currently it is 22,000 thru RCI and available 9-20 months out.

Bluegreen resorts will be available via MAX starting this summer. You should have received an email regarding this. Check your owner website for updates.

I haven't heard of any adjustment of point values with BG being integrated into Max, so I would assume that it would be a straight 1:1 conversion. When HVC/DRI was added, HGVC point values were increased by 1.6 times across the board. Here are the points for KingsLand:

Is this coming from a salesperson?
Yes, the salesman at Spinnakers. Yet they want our BlueGreen deeds/contracts as part of the sale. They say BlueGreen will take them back and out of the other side of their mouth, they tell us we can't get rid of our BlueGreen deeds/ contracts through the Responsible exit Program because BlueGreen never takes anything back. Does that sound fishy to you?

It's been my experience that you have to book anything in Hawaii as close to a year out as possible. 6 months is only possible if you keep checking the web site and hoping someone cancels. Aruba is the same way. You need the longer booking time for even resorts in Florida.

I would have never bought at $3.00 or more per point.

Thank you all-I am feeling better about this. So we will be told that we will slowly lose our good benefits of we don't buy into Hilton, but that's not true? I am am still aware of lying time share salespeople- even at BlueGreen. We have been lied to and used by one salesperson at BlueGreen
He helped us book a weekend in Vegas for some friends who wanted to have a bachelor party. This was to help pay our maintenance fees which are large. We got$300.00 for booking and later found out the salesman charged his friends$600 and he kept the rest. We complained about what he had done- he still works there. This is at Christmas Mountain. He's a young biracial man- watch out for him at updates.
We use our free weeks in Vegas, Chicago, California

I am not a BlueGreen owner, but as a Diamond owner I can say that I lost more benefits when I was converted to Max than if I had stayed as a non-Max owner. The number of points required for various benefits was much higher on the Max side than on the legacy Diamond side.

plus the cost of your BG points. Yes, many Diamond Resorts properties are available through exchanges as well.

Its 1.43 Bluegreen points to 1 HGV point, as of Wednesdays Update at Mill Creek lodge BG Pinion Forge TN. The website will automatically Convert the HGV points chart and show the required BG points amount on the MAX website. I was shown this by the Hilton Update sales rep June 25th on their computer at our update.

When you use MAX you are also paying with your BG points.

Thanks @MrockStar, I wish that HGV would have done something similar instead of adjusting HGVC point values for our system. The old point numbers were easy to remember but I can not remember our adjust point numbers.

Yup, most all of our BG are at least Even round numbers. Easy to remember.

Unfortunately, with the increased cost, limited availability and not being able to use the Free Weeks in RCI (we are Platinum and have three), we are forced to get out of BlueGreen. If you are interested, let me know!!!

There are two people on Facebook that help owners sell Bluegreen, don't charge, and are successful

bluegreen must be pushing this pitch hard, ive gotten so many emails from owners who have encountered this "you gotta buy 25k more points to ensure you dont lose out" story at an owner update!
