What have other BlueGreen owners noticed since Hilton bought BlueGreen?

bluegreen must be pushing this pitch hard, ive gotten so many emails from owners who have encountered this "you gotta buy 25k more points to ensure you dont lose out" story at an owner update!

I suspect you are right. HGV Inc.'s sales teams may have learned from their acquisition of DRI. Sell hard and early on when there is limited information available. Once they release more details and enough people have been through presentations, it becomes easier for the rest of us to make a more accurate assessment. A classic case of "if the sales rep's mouth is moving, it's mostly lies, half-truths and fabrications."

Most of us who own in HGVC and didn't bite at the first opportunity with HGV Max after the acquisition of DRI, but waited, ultimately came to the conclusion that Max wasn't really worth it, especially with the 6-month (now 7-month) reservation window and the relatively high buy-in costs. Everyone's situation is different, but I suspect this is much of the same sort of scenario. I wouldn't be in any rush.

Everyone is afraid of missing out, but there really isn't anything to miss out on. The offers to buy in will still be there after I am dead and gone. I was told that I would have a choice on whether I wanted to opt in, and I decided not to. Suddenly I was in Max despite my protests. It seems too many people weren't opting in so they made it mandatory if you purchase anything. The bad thing is if you actually want to upgrade you get put in Max and can't stay in your legacy system.

I got Max when I purchased a resale HGVC in Orlando. Don't know how that happened, but I am glad I did not pay for the conversion. If HGVC discovers the mistake some day and takes it away, I won't care. I use my points for HGVC stays only and have never stayed at a Max property. I have stay at some Blue Green properties via RCI.
