I would assume that WKV-Gold would have some value - seems like it would have been good to give away vs. a deedback and deal with Vistana/MVC.
@Cornell attempted to give it away in the Free Timeshares forum and had no takers. These gold weeks at WKV are less desirable than SVV Key West and Bella. Especially when it is the Premium 1BR.

Wow! I would think that WKV Gold had enough value that it could be given away. Glad the deed back worked in long run.

I just completed a deedback for an EOYE Vistana Villages St. Augustine gold plus unit. The next usage was for 2026. I paid the 2025 bill for half ( the MF is billed half annually).
The whole process took about 2 months, and today I received a check for reimbursement of the 2025 fees! I was thrilled.

I suspect this is because of how Vistana bills MFs from the oustet of original sale. They bill the year prior and the use year for your usage. So you own even, next use was 2026. That means the fees from 2025 and 2026 cover the 2026 usage.

Yes, it covered the first half of 2026, but I figured I would lose whatever I had paid in. I was pleasantly surprised to get it back.

We have been trying to deed back our 3 Westin St. john Bay Vista units to no avail through the Vistana Exit program, and Marriott resale office. We have been told there are no opportunities at this time. We have recently retired and just cannot afford the maintenance fees any longer.

All units are paid in full. We own all in Bay Vista - 1 Annual Platinum season 3 bedroom, 1 EOY Odd year Platinum season 3 bedroom and 1 Platinum Plus EOY Even year 3 bedroom.

We have also tried to rent through OM Villas, we have been contacted by an agent with Timeshare Broker Services about a cash sale only to not being able to get said agent to respond to any phone calls or emails.

If anyone has had success in dealing with Marriott deed back options and have the name of a person they dealt with or a phone number they used in the event I am using the wrong number I would greatly appreciate any assistance in who you dealt with or any tips.

Marriott doesn’t seem to be interested in feedbacks at WSJ or Harbourside. This is based on past reports.

I have no idea what the market is for those units, but you should definitely post them in the selling section here on TUG… maybe try free but buyer pays the closing costs, something like that? It’s an alternate way of exiting that might bear fruit sooner than dealing with MVC.

marriott/vistana have always balked at taking back ownerships that were not based in US states...even though its a us territory. much like harborside!

though i agree you should have little issue giving away a westin st john ownership!

MVC offered a feedback on our WSJ-VGV VOIs, but gave away on TUG. We were happy with our 2Bd TH adjacent weeks, but following H.Irma it was no longer worth the expense of travel from NorCal. Surprised that they won't take back WSJ-BV. You'd think they could find more fish to buy them.

See my response above. WSJ is a tough rental for some reason (try RedWeek over OM), but your WSJ-BV should have enough value to give away.
You'd think that MVC would take back and sell for full value to the next victim.

Yes we thought they would take a deed back but so far no luck we plan to keep trying all of the above and will see how we make out.

appears that marriott has chosen to turn off the previous email address to reach out for deedback/surrenders as it bounces now.

would have taken no effort to redirect/forward emails from that address to the new one....this industry pisses me off sometimes.

and the vistana exit page just takes you to the login now...unreal....would make one think they want to make it as difficult as possible for an owner to give their ownership back.

no real surpirse the exit companies of the world are raking in money hand over fist.

Even the Marriott link requires login. Sure, the link from ResponsibleExit goes to a page that doesn't require login, but to really get further and or request an exit, you still have to login.

at one point they all at least went to a landing page that explained the options/process....

having it just go to a login page seems counterproductive.

I wonder what percentage of Marriott owners even know how to login -- especially with all of Marriott's IT issues and IT changes over the years.
