travel4you5 ebay seller A/K/A National Resort Title et al

Hi everyone. Just an update. The attorney I have been working with helped get a refund check in the full, original amount issued directly from National Resort Title. I cashed the check and waited 10 days just to make sure it cleared before updating the lawyer of my satisfaction in the resolution.

I started this process in October with my group legal plan (Arag), and it took them almost 3 months to locate a lawyer in their network; for some reason they felt it best to find someone physically located in Hawaii. I shared the case background and all information and communications in January. I received the check in late February.

Congrats on finally getting your refund, @owl! How sad that you "bought" the timeshare last April and you just got your money back. Kudos to you. I think these guys expect most people will give up and let them keep scamming.

They seem to buy a lot of autoparts, perhaps to boost their rating. They seem to only have listed timeshares for sale and they don't have all that feedback on sports cards like the sketchy seller usually does.

You’re probably right, but the price is just so low compared to what DVC can be easily sold for on the resale market using a broker. Here’s another one (different seller) that’s even cheaper: https://www.ebay.com/itm/395253149606?itmmeta=01HRY94DG9X6QD2MXGE3AW43CQ&hash=item5c06ec6fa6:g:TTwAAOSw8ttl6dlg&itmprp=enc:AQAJAAABAG1Gb3x6HCcTuX04QU4MSTM6/uFNvgYmP7ePOHaOnBPN4YQw1+g5pDxfvLCxnzv65FBvIffXZjPslN6RZiivxFikVcPtarLvAMcpo27sq1AkMDWbZKhiUvScrthsJDKw+ZruK8TFeuEmoLv647SCIHTruCPgcYzirqail9LzXTSaVwIcO9FnBQFra3IfvcPgvjkapKFJ/2OA1BZB0IsNrsXhMEdLdqs4bZcbpXLoeuHKpwhD/cUhpUXmTcyoraKMdltIrEEIfra97cpHWw+9uEAmudZRr7VzUlX8aA6uDzTRdxp4xSDw5YULtI2X720myjp2+O/dyLqRFRNqrlB9BVo=|tkp:Bk9SR-jYkcnHYw

Granted, there’s 4 hours left in that auction, but the current bid (around $3,000) for 180 points would represent around $16 per point when SSR is going for around $100 per point. Hell, you could use DVC Resale Market’s “guaranteed sale” feature (where DVC resale market just buys it from you) to get around $85 per point, so I just really really have to wonder why anyone would try to flip this on eBay for so cheap? These contracts are not hard to sell at all priced even 5 times higher than what that eBay bid is currently at. That last one appears to be a reputable timeshare reseller, so I’m sure it’s probably legit (and I’m tempted to bid on it just to buy it and immediately flip it, except that it would get ROFR’d) but I’m just scratching my head.

This ended up selling for $68 per point, I hope the buyer isn’t about to get ripped off. I also really doubt it passes ROFR if legit.

Apparently they are under a new eBay name: jacgill-47:

I think they posted another ad that looks too good to be true! How can we warn others? https://www.ebay.com/itm/285807094107

Thank you for posting this. I always check TUG before I go with a new seller

I believe the owner Stacy Gillespie of IA Vacations was arrested in 2021. I just saw another thread and I recognized that was the company that sold me a bunch of Wyndham contracts, that they were unable to complete. They did not refund me. It was a lot of money because this was when Wyndham contracts had a bit more resale value.
