Sticky - Give back your unwanted wyndham Timeshare - Wyndham Ovations / Wyndham Cares / Certified Exit

I saw in an ad on ebay for wyndham timeshare points that said if you had participated in the Ovation program to give back a week that you would be prohibited from buying any other wyndham points contracts. I tried to find something about that in this long thread but did not find it. Has anyone run into this issue?

I believe that only applies to the Limited Edition program.

Ok. I gave back a resale week, so it was not Limited Edition. I should be fine with another purchase. Thanks.

I have a converted fixed week at Riverside Suites in San Antonio that I would like to get rid of but when I called, I was told that location was not eligible. Anyone else have success with giving back Riverside Suites?

It doesn't really matter if anyone else has done it, because the landscape is constantly changing. All that matters is, right now, they won't take that one back. Try calling again in 4-6 weeks, but in the meantime consider offering it up here as a freebie on TUG.

Called in on the 16th of last month, got the give-back paperwork by email last Thursday, the 3rd. Of note, they are requiring the paperwork back to them in only 14 days so it's off to a notary tomorrow morning. Only took them 2 and a half weeks to get the ball rolling! I was expecting that many months.

All give-backs, no LE was offered. Two UDI contracts (Meadows and Kingsgate) plus a CWA. Maybe I'll get by with only one more MF payment! Fingers crossed!

UPDATE on my Certified Exit . . . Limited Edition "membership"

I just booked the first of my 3 years of "free use" of my former 77k points. Everything went smoothly. I still can't believe I'm out of the timeshare ownership world, but also given 3 years to use without paying MFs, etc.

Nothing says "RETIRED" like using a timeshare unit for a week to do community/housing research for when we sell our house and leave Wisconsin in the coming year (or two). First up . . . TENNESSEE (and the neighboring states).

Well, the two deeded UDI contracts are gone from my online account. Still shows the 64K CWA, though. I would have thought it would be the easiest to process.

Getting closer to none!

Just something I wanted to set down here for posterity. In my experience (5 deeded contracts returned via Ovation/Certified Exit), Wyndham doesn't actually worry about recording the deed until after - sometimes many months after - the contract (and its maintenance fee obligation) is removed from the owner's account. It seems that this keeps the timeframe for completing a CWA exit vs. a deeded exit pretty similar. Specifically:

1, 2 - I called Ovation in early April 2019 about two contracts - one at the Cottages in MB and one at Pagosa Teal Landing. The two contracts left my online account in late May/early June 2019. The Cottages contract was recorded in Horry County on 10/15/2019 and Pagosa in Archuleta County on 9/30/2019.

3, 4 - I called Certified Exit August 9, 2023, about two contracts - one at Ocean Boulevard and one at Flagstaff. They left my online account on 11/1 and 11/2/2023. The Ocean Boulevard contract was recorded in Horry County on 1/11/2024 and the Flagstaff was recorded on 11/27/2023.

5 - I called Certified Exit January 3, 2025 about one contract at Grand Desert. It left my online account on 4/10/2025. The deed has still not been recorded in Clark County. (To be updated later)

I'm just putting this here for information and my own reference to have all the dates in one place - in my head, I was remembering that they all took about 6 months, but the 2023 ones only took a month or two.
