I was visiting my niece and her family and as we were talking to her I asked her for a telephone directory.
My niece laughed at me, called me a dinosaur and hand me her I-Phone to use.
Now the spider is dead, the I-Phone is broke and my niece is really really mad at me.

A teacher at a boys prep school was teaching a class on manners and starts with you are on a date with a young lady and need to go to the bathroom.
John, how would you excuse yourself? John answers "excuse me I have to go pee". The teacher responds well that is very rude.
Jim, how would you excuse yourself? Jim answers "excuse me I have to go to the bathroom". The teacher responds "well better but still rather indelicate".
Joe, how would you handle this? Joe answers "excuse me darling I have to go shake hands with a very dear friend, who I hope to introduce you to after dinner.

My husband and I cannot figure this out. Help!!
I'm not sure of the humor, but that it a mildly explosive dart from the 50's or 60's. You put a "cap" in it, throw it up in the air and when it hits the ground, it goes bang.

So, maybe the idea that when "you know you know" is referring to something that you knew when you were much younger.

You put more than one cap in it. One cap doesn't do anything; it's not any different than putting the roll of caps in a cap gun.

When I was a lad - we would each buy ten or more boxes of cap rolls. As I recall, they came in either five or ten rolls per box. We figured out that if you put those a roll of caps on a hard surface and struck them with a hammer, that had about the detonation power of small Black Cat.

So, we would break the caps apart into individual rolls; then usually we would cut each roll in half. So if we had six boxes with ten rolls in each box, we now had 120 "shots". Divide that among four kids and we each are armed with 30 "shots".

All of the houses in the neighborhood had a 3-step concrete stairway leading to the front door. Those stairs were an excellent place to detonate those "shots" with a hammer.

***********

We had a crotchety old man neighbor, whom we knew would call the cops when he heard "fireworks" going off in the neighborhood. So we would start by detonating some of those "shots" on concrete front steps near his house. Then we scattered, to keep lookout for the cops.

The fun began when the rollers arrived. We knew all of the shortcuts between houses to go from block to block. So, one of us would use a hammer to detonate several shots in a certain area, to draw the cops there. Then that person would take a shortcut to another street, while someone else would start detonating in another area, to draw the cops that way.

The game was to see how long we could keep the cops circulating in the neighborhood. No one ever got caught, but if we had, there would have been nothing illegal about what we doing.

This brought a big smile remembering this lost bomb

If it brings a smile then that’s humor to me

T. R. Thanks for that memory as well.

T. R. You ever make homemade smoke bombs to go with these?
